A nice wilderness walking area just outside of Baton Rouge located in Central. You will enjoy shaded walks through forested areas, a bamboo grove area & overlook spots of the Amite/Comite River. It has well marked & maintained, easy/moderate hiking paths. A map of trails is posted at the main trailhead. During the rainy season, you are likely to encounter wet areas. NO bathroom facilities currently, gravel parking. As one of very few BREC conservation areas, dogs are not allowed.

My first time on this trail. I was with a group and we had a great time. The bamboo trail is amazing. I will go back.

The giant bamboos are amazing. Could be a restroom somewhere close.

No deer hunting it's a place to go hiking or to river , No camping No staying after dark And dont leave car after dark will possibly be towed
Yes
There are a few different trails. If you want to walk the trail that goes straight back to the giant picnic table and beach/creek, it takes a good 10-15 minutes at a normal foot pace.
No trails, just hiking trails and a river with a beach and picnic table
The only BREC park with (RV only) camping is Farr Park, although I do not know the current status of that facility given present circumstances. No other camping is allowed (except for certain extra-special BREC-organized events).
It's multiple in one. The shortest is 1 mile.
It's free. But be careful when it rains or gets dark, it will be tricky. I love the river tbh.
I believe that you can kayak down the river but it would be at your own risk. The river right there is known to have serious undercurrents
No
If you walk along the tracks you can swim. Do not drive back there though park in the rocks and walk. Its about 3/4 mile walk
