Staff is amazing. The dr called called us directly to check on our pet the day after surgery! Very compassionate.

We cannot sing enough praise for every single one of the staff at Bulverde Animal Hospital. We have had a few odd situations arise with our 2 year old golden retriever and the staff have gone above and beyond each time to help us care for our furry family member. They treat him like he is their most important pet, which is something I'm sure they do for every single pet that enters the office. On this most recent occasion, our pup was displaying some odd behavior that told us he wasn't feeling well. The office was supposed to close at noon that day but they all decided that they wanted to stay longer to run tests and help him begin to feel better. They absolutely did not have to do this and could have asked me to wait until the next day. Instead they were gracious and kind and worked to give me peace as I worried about my pup. We think the world of Dr. Richardson too. He takes every concern seriously but is also cautious of asking families to spend a lot of money. Unfortunately, we've had numerous experiences with other vets who immediately insist upon tests and treatments and run up the bill. We appreciate the transparency of Bulverde Animal Hospital and the respect for each family's choices and means. We have nothing but high praise for every one in this office and we will continue to recommend them to everyone we know.

Dr Richardson is thorough but the wait time is a bit excessive for normal routine exam and vaccines. Front office staff are friendly but seem a bit inexperienced resulting in much frustration. Trying to get heart worm meds refilled required several reminders to the front office. Preventative care is important to us, as mini-dachshunds tend to live long lives. We have used this clinic over 10 years but currently seeking a new veterinarian office for our pets.

Our previous two pets and our current two pets were cared for with the upmost care, compassion and concern from the time we brought them in. Dr. Kothman and now Dr Wood are awesome. Thank you for taking car of our furbabies.

Why yes and for tigers and cheetahs too.
I'm so sorry but we do not do horses.
Kenai received a 3 year rabies vacc on Jan 8 2019. It is good until Jan 7 2022. You will need to check with the airlines regarding traveling with a pet. Depending on the state or country an international or interstate health certificate may be required. Restrictions have gotten a lot tougher for moving pets.
A Heartworm Test is $45.00 as long as we have a current exam within the last year on file.
