If I could leave negative stars, I’d do it. I was on vacation on July 28 and decided to stop in to the Guitar Center in Charleston, SC (Store #735). I find a guitar and start demoing it only to have an employee tap me on the shoulder and tell me to turn my volume down so that they could hear their phones. This was not a problem at all EXCEPT the following: 1) my volume was at 2 and nothing else was past 5 (if even). 2) there was a group of 4 grown gentlemen hitting basses at a volume so loud I couldn't even hear what I was playing through my own head, let alone through the amplifier I was using at the time. 3) Half of the group just so happened to be black (I'm white) and the aforementioned shoulder-tapping employee who had an afro did not tell them to turn their volume down at all. As a matter of fact, they kept plucking and hitting away AFTER I was told to turn my stuff down. All I felt I could do was unplug the cable, leave the amp on, put the guitar back where I found it (or close to that vicinity), and storm out because I knew I was targeted. The lessons guy looked at me like I had 8 heads when I told him what happened. I sent a complaint on your website and was told via email that I would get a response in no more than 24 hours. Nothing. I even called the other number given to me in that email and was told nothing and not to worry. Still nothing pretty much. It's too late for that now as you have 99.5% likely lost me as a customer for life. I've been a customer with you guys since I started playing 8 1/2 years ago and I never thought I'd be typing an email like this to a company I thought I could trust. Around 3 weeks ago, however, I received another inquiry from your company asking to talk. I cannot for the life of me find the email now, but I specifically remember the lady who sent using “they/them” pronouns. This is the straw that has broken the camel’s back because I did not consent to seeing any pronouns, first of all. Second, this also means I cannot take you seriously at all whatsoever. Lastly, this 125% means that I cannot in good conscience shop at any Guitar Center anymore. I will not support corporations forcing pronoun use and enabling racist targeting. My prayer is you and everyone in your company repents of this pandering nonsense and finds something fulfilling, which ultimately is Jesus Christ. Until then, I won’t be visiting Guitar Center anymore. You had better thank the Lord Jesus Christ that I have a forgiving heart and have decided not to sue your company for discrimination. Good job. Repent! Update 9/5/22 - they told me to email an address that has already received this review as of last month. Solidifies that I will NOT be shopping at Guitar Center anymore and I implore anyone who stumbles across this to do the same.

I paid for a BRAND NEW white Yamaha HS5, yet they gave me a USED, BEATEN UP, “FLOOR MODEL” that DID NOT COME WITH A POWER CORD. I am not making this up. All I wanted was a BRAND NEW white HS5. If you did not have a BRAND NEW HS5, then you should have said that. I wasted Lyft money for something Guitar Center reps both local on over the phone messed up on. I did not know Guitar Center was and still is highly notorious when it comes to TOP QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Guitar Center HQ, or whomever this may concerns, you seriously ought to fix your issue. How would you like it if someone gave you something truly unexpectedly disappointing that you paid for from your own hard earn money? Because now I cannot trust purchasing from such a company EVER AGAIN. Either give me A BRAND NEW YAMAHA HS5 in NEW CONDITION or you will lose yet another customer.

I always bring my mini snark with me. Sure the staff will do it but its a pain to ask for every other guitar you pick up.
I'm sure they'll be happy to change it for you as long as they're not to busy. Go to YouTube and see how easy it is to change yourself. Don't forget to stretch the strings as you tune.( It makes a huge difference in keeping in tune!)
What # do you have?
Yes they do! https://www.guitarcenter.com/Violins.gc
Idk but they do have a padded cushion that swivels 360 degrees reasonably priced.
I don't know sorry. I would assume that their is though.
yes
Violin- no. They have very bare minimum for other strung instruments. Bow, rosin, music..that's about it.
Yes
Yes they do not sure on brands, I picked my Epiphone Uke there. But they have concerto to baritone in stock
It's better and preferred if you can kinda isolate them, but you need the bass drum and snare and at least 1 overhead...
The strings have nylon in the middle. If you'll notice that they'll "roll" more than slide if you try to bend them. That's just how they are. And some of it goes to how thick a string in the lower 3 (E, A, D) would have to be to get the right tension and tone. 😊🙏🕉💪💚
If it has an out or outs, yes.
Ye old for sure
They are really nice people there.clean place.
