This place really truly cares for its animals. The cats have plenty of space to roam around once they're moved to the cat room, the dogs get treated well, and they are super friendly and helpful to people looking to adopt. Every Friday (I believe that often) the cats are taken to animal sanctuaries if not adopted. I'm unsure about the dogs, but they are well taken care of, so you can be sure a stray cat will be safe if it goes here. (As long as it's not sick or feral.)

Good luck trying to call. Better luck receiving any assistance if you drive out there. Another failed portion of gordon county heading down the drain. Should have left this once beautiful place to the Cherokee.

The facility looks wonderfully equipped the kennels look magnificently clean and the animals are very well taken care of!

Nice place to get a pet. I visited the other day to get a spay/neuter certificate. I took a peek at the animals they were sheltering. I saw that it was a clean and a neat facility. Animals had food and nice clean place to sleep. I wanted to take em all home. Very nice looking pets. Perfect place.

Are you still looking for an Adult German Shepherd?
While Gordon County does not see this so much as a "crime", it is still possible for him to be arrested. Do not throw away any written threats that he has made against your animal. If you feel he may actually take action, you can take copies of those written threats and seek a restraining order, either a TPO or PPO. Now with that being said, there is also a Leash-Law in Georgia. How far from your residence does the man live? Was there any provocation to why he is threatening your animal?
Me too, looked for a little one
When I was in there a couple days ago, they had 4 or 5 about 11 weeks old.
Make sure rabies shots are up to date. If not, you have to report it for her safety and others. Dog needs to be reported if it bit her that many times. It could be much worse next time
It should be on their website
Can people volunteer at the shelter?
Yes take it to the pound as a stray.
Yes. And they are super nice people too.
There is a Leash-Law in the state of Georgia, so he must be on a runner. Any animal that is roaming a neighborhood is considered to be a start and can be picked up by your local pound. It's best to just keep them on a runner or inside, unless you've got a fenced in yard.
I would love to have a small pup to keep inside. Low cost or free if possible. I am disabled and on SSI. Anyone that can help please let me know.. Ty. Sincerely, KELLEY MCGUIRE
Ask at the dog boarder/groomer at the plaza at the beginning of Peters Street. (Across the street from the Ford showroom). I saw a banner in that plaza for it.
Ha! I had that situation with a 1-year-old black cat. She appeared to be asleep on our ten-mile journey to her new home on a farm, though I even made 3 stops on the way. Well wouldn't you know, within 3 days, she reappeared at my house...scraggled after that walk, but alive! No, the new owners didn't even know where we lived...her inner compass must have guided her! So I say good luck to you!
I have a small chiwahua mix that I'm looking for a home for. My aunt had him n due to her health can't take care of him. I believe he's about a year old.
They do kill animals. Once they are full or feel it is either too sick or mean to get adopted.
