We experienced an ice maker breakdown, so we called Sears Appliance Repair, since the refrigerator was a Kenmore. The company only comes to Statesboro, GA on Tuesdays, so we had to wait until Tuesday June 14, but that was ok as we picked up ice from a local shop. The Sears Tech showed up on Tuesday, the time sceduled, and proceeded to try and repair the ice maker. The Tech determined the ice maker should be replaced, and proceeded to order a new one from the parts people. The part arrived by mail within a week, so we called the company to schedule the replacement. They came promptly on Tuesday June 28, replaced the broken ice maker, and within 6 hours we had ice.

Would score “0” if I could. Called to repair my new refrigerator for a low water flow issue, the original problem turning out (eventually) to be a mis-manufactured water filter (Sears: “When you buy a refrigerator, it’s having a filter is considered a bonus; we don’t replace filters under warranty”). The 2nd repair tech (“I’m not really a refrigerator repair person”) apparently damaged the main circuit board before I suggested removing the water filter to verify it wasn’t the problem. Turns out it was, and the rest of the multi-tech, multi-service appointment effort revolved around undoing the damage done by the 2nd tech. And the problem wasn’t just the service tech, but the Sears system all around - simply the worst-managed service business I have ever experienced. My fault for turning to Sears without first checking reviews online!

I purchased the warranty when I purchased my home appliances from Sears. I have had them for about 2 years and they are all starting to not work. Both my refrigerator and washer are broken and they are giving me appointments that are 2 weeks out. The individuals that answer the customer telephone calls are sometimes hard to understand and/or rude. Today, alone I had to ask for cooperate number before the representative would put in a repair ticket for my refrigerator. By tomorrow I will have to empty my refrigerator because it’s warm and not making ice.
