Just passed through Covington, and this was definitely a sight to behold. I was trying to figure out what it was, I was thinking maybe coal plant, but figured not since there was not enough of the real-sooty smoke coming out of the smokestacks. I then thought natural gas, but found out that it’s a paper mill. The wind must have been blowing away, because I’ve heard they make towns smell less than pleasant. Either way, it reminded me of William Blake’s line, “Among those dark Satanic mills,” although far from 1800s industrial England. Neat place.

makes the whole town smell terrible. ruins the nature surrounding the town. if you’re going to build a paper mill, put it far away from society.
