Charter Senior Living was recommended to us for our very dear friend. Donna Backman was wonderful, & so was her staff. She is highly skilled & easy to speak with. The grounds give the feeling of home. We even spoke with some people who live there. Liked everything we saw & heard. Highly recommend Charter Senior Living in Hermitage.

After looking at seven different memory care facilities for my mom, I decided on Charter. It was a the best decision I could have made. Everyone (management, staff, kitchen, cleaning, maintenance and activity workers included) shows care, comfort and kindness to my mom and makes her feel right at home. Charter has become like a family to me. Donna in the front office has been spectacular. She walked me through the process of getting mom set up in the right level of care and checks in on her almost every day, even with the demanding work load that she already has. And from other family members I know that she takes this kind of care of everyone's loved ones. Danny the director has made sure that as mom's cognitive status (she had a stroke and was hospitalized prior to moving there) and physical status have improved from Charter's fantastic activities and staff, she has progressed not only physically and mentally but that she has moved from Memory Care to the main Assisted Living floor - even though Charter will lose tens of thousands of dollars from moving her there. Donna and Danny really care about my mother and not just the corporate bottom line!!! All of the activity directors, nurses, kitchen staff, and management work really hard to keep the residents involved and active while always coming up with new projects and (family involved) entertainment with many special occasion holiday events. I am so grateful to all for the care my mother is receiving.

Not a fan of Charter. Danny the new property Director is terrific (he has his work cut out for him). Donna will be your friend right up until you sign the dotted line then no more return calls. Took my mom to see if there was interest in the community. We decided not at the time (I was working with her drs. because of her worry issues). I let Melanie know that I was her POA. We left and I took her home. Another resident called her and put the guilt trip on her to sign the contract and move in immediately. So she went to the office with her and had my mom sign the contract with the knowledge that I was the legal POA. They do not do assessments on the patient prior to moving in the independent living section (aka Villa’s). Needless to say I was furious! My mom was having memory problems and should have never been allowed to sign that contract without my knowledge. The villa’s are old and outdated, filled with cobwebs, the one resident is very bossy, a bully and interferes with other families. Charter is aware of her and yet do not address it situation. I moved her to another facility and now she is thriving and happy. I cannot recommend Charter.
