Wow! I called (Wed morning) to find out where my tag stickers were after waiting 3 weeks. The woman on the phone was so nice and helpful. Turned out to be my mistake that caused the trouble. Still, she was patient and understanding and got the situation fixed in a few minutes. Saved me a trip to their office!

Not sure why this tag office has a low rating, but my previous two experiences have been very pleasant and hassle free! No appointment, walked in and waited about 30 seconds both times before being called up to a window. Everyone who works here are very friendly and courteous!

Thank you for a pleasant and professional encounter. The facility was clean. The employee at the front entrance consulting check-in did not make me feel like I was visiting an inmate. I made an appt in advance and was in and out in no time. Thanks again!!!

New, more spacious facility than the old location. Make sure you register online before going there and you will get a text on your phone about your appointment. Upon arrival, text 'Here' back and a few minutes later, I got a text to go inside the lobby. I was done with my tag renewal in 15 minutes. I registered online around 1230pm, and was told that the wait was about 45min. I finally arrived around 315pm and was done around 330pm.

The best thing to do is to ask them for the documents so that your son doesn't have to pay all the taxes again and you will save hundreds . Both you and him will have to to show your drivers license and sign the documents in front of a notary which they have at the tag office and then they will transfer the title and he will get a new license plate. Also he will have to have insurance on the car in his name. Also he has to get the emissions on the car.
No they don't and no drivers tests at this location either
Yes
Yes any tax commissioner or tag office location is responsible for giving out Disability driving permits or hangcards
yes and i believe they do that for a small fee
yes you can but they wont give any money back.
Yes it is. Be sure to bring all of the paperwork from the sale and your ID. (And of course, your checkbook or credit card.)
on holidays yes, you can also check their website or google dekalb tax commissioner holidays/hours
Appointments are not needed at any location but are encouraged. Visit our website at DeKalbTax.org to make an appointment or add yourself to our SameDay Waitlist to save time in line.
Yes. All locations have the same services. If you come to our office to request a replacement the cost is $8 and your title will be mailed to you in 7-10 business days. If you need your title right away you’ll need to visit the Department of Revenue’s Motor Vehicle Office off Camp Creek Parkway, pay $18, and get it on the spot.
Our Dresden Office has relocated to 3653 Clairmont Road. We are open Mon-Fri from 8am-4:30pm. We will be closed Monday, February 21 for Presidents Day. Visit our website at DeKalbTax.org before your visit to review what you need to bring to receive service, and to make an appointment or add yourself to our Same-Day Waitlist before leaving home. This saves time and a wasted trip! Feel free to use Google Maps. We reached out to them and they corrected the issue mentioned below.
Visit Eservices.drives.ga.gov to change your address. The required forms are on that site.
Visit our website to make an appointment or add yourself to our Same-Day Waitlist at www.DeKalbTax.org
Normally the parents or the owner of the vehicle takes out the plates, has to have insurance and pay the taxes. It would be very expensive for a student to take care of all this. I would recommend a parent take care of this.
Yes. You will need a title, a bill-of-sale, proof of insurance, and probably registration from Virginia. You can call them and I urge you to go online and schedule an appointment rather than simply turning up. I found having an appointment made things go faster. Appointments are by tag office location so pick the location most convenient to you.
If you purchased your vehicle at a dealership, they need to have already applied for the GA title in your name. It's best to make an appointment or you will have to wait. A GA driver's license, GA insurance, an emissions test if required, the vehicle title and/or bill of sale and money. I would call ahead of time to get the amount owed so you're not potentially unpleasantly surprised.
You can walk-in and schedule appointment on-site, I would recommend you go in early. Waiting time should be about 2hrs.
Yes
This is not the office to go to about drivers licenses, this office is for property taxes and car tags. You need to go to the Department of Driver Services.
Go to tag office they'll fix.
Yeah they are open and you can take bill of sale title.
I believe u need to go to DMV. This is just Tax Dept/Tax Commissioner. They collect taxes only
We went on a Monday at 8 am and the wait was an hour. By the time we got out it was 2 hours and 40 mins wait If you're just trying to get the sticker, I highly suggest doing it online. You'll get them in a couple days by mail and you get to avoid the long waits!
Appointments are not required but are encouraged. You can book those online at our website DeKalbTax.org/appointments. If you prefer to walk in, save yourself time by adding yourself to our SameDay Waitlist at DeKalbTax.org. No need to wait until you arrive to get on the list. This policy applies to all 3 locations and always has.
Not unless you have a Fulton address.
I actually went in to the Brookhaven tag office and they were amazing ,fast and. Courteous....
There is no charge Tammie.
No.
Yes. You can renew your registration in person, online, by mail, or self-service kiosk at select Kroger locations.
No, only Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm
No.
Yes
No DeKalb only
No
Yes it matters you have to either go to Fulton County or the Moreland Avenue location where they service all counties.
no i believe you must be 18 or older
Yes
its good to have proof although they may already have proof in the system. insurance companies upload information daily to states.
No, they do not do license renewals here.
You can change the address on your vehicle registration card or title by mail or in person but you need to have your driver's license updated first. It would need to be processed by the Fulton county tax commissioner's office since you are transfering it there.
No, this office does not issue driver's licenses.
Yes.
If you had a blue placard, issued less than two years ago, just bring it in with you and they will update your records and reissue a new placard, if necessary. I believe, after two years, you will need a new doctor's certificate.
They should be, according to their posted time on Google maps they are.
that is done at the dmv not the tax commissioner. they dont cost more than $20 (not sure of cost for ID but it isnt much)
You may be able to do it online if your are a US citizen.
