These people are really inconsiderate and extremely rude when it comes to the Covid Rent Relief Program for rental assistance! A payment was “supposedly“ sent in January for rent & it was returned and the supervisor kept it! I was approved again in august and they have no clue where the check is for payments! The customer service agents are rude too & seem to hate their job of helping people! They put you on hour holds just to hang up & lie as if the supervisor will call you back! The case managers don’t care either! Horrible experience with them I would not recommend!!!!

not my own experience, but my best friend had an awful experience with thda's lack of communication and unwillingness to really help throughout the process. How can she DM or get in contact with someone who can further assist?

THDA's Emergency Repair Program is administered by eight Development Districts and one Human Resource Agency in Tennessee to provide funding to make essential repairs for elderly homeowners. Find your agency here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/thda.org/Documents/Business-Partners/Grant-Administrators/Housing-Trust-Fund/Emergency-Repair-Program-ERP/Development-District-ERP-Contacts-Map.pdf

Hi Trina. At the moment none of our waiting lists is open but when they do open you can find all the info you need on our website here: https://thda.org/renters/waiting-list. However, the larger cities in TN have their own Section 8 administrators, and it's possible they could have some openings, so you may want to contact them directly if you are interested in living in Nashville (MDHA), Memphis (Memphis Housing Authority), Knoxville (KCDC), Chattanooga (Chattanooga Housing Authority), or Clarksville (Clarksville Housing Authority.) All of those organizations have websites that can give you more info about Section 8 in their cities.
I can't find the web to report Mary Ellis 133 Creekside court Gallatin Tennessee 37066
We are not currently accepting applications for Section 8 in the programs we handle. When HUD lets us know that we can open a waiting list in a county, we will let people know in local papers, on our website, and on Facebook and Twitter. We only accept applications online. Here is the page where openings will be announced and the applications portal is found when lists are open: https://thda.org/help-for-renters-section-8/waiting-list-openings-and-closings Also, if you are looking for Section 8 in one of the major cities in TN, Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Jackson, etc., you should check with the housing agencies in those cities as they handle Section 8 for those cities and have their own application procedures.
Ms. Carney is correct. Further, THDA is not the only housing authority in the state. Check with MDHA to learn about their program and wait list. They manage Davidson County.
You need to make an appointment with your voucher administrator. IE The housing authority or organization that awarded your Section 8 voucher.
A psychiatrist letter I’m pretty sure is fine
Try calling our Section 8 Contract Administration Resident Issues hotline: 800-314-9320
They should be! We will send an inquiry to the call center to make sure there are no problems. If you have a specific question about your case, you can DM your case number to us via Facebook and we can take a look to see what's going on.
If you are behind on rent for reasons directly related to the pandemic, you can apply for help at our website: thda.org/covidrentrelief. If you need general help that is not related to the pandemic, the only other option we offer is Section 8 housing choice vouchers. At the moment all counties have a waiting list and we don't know when applications will open again to get on the wait lists, but when we do know, we will post that on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts and you will be able to apply on our website. If you are looking for rental assistance in Nashville, Memphis, or Murfreesboro, they handle their own programs so you should google for those cities' housing authorities and contact them directly for help.
If you are interested in porting (transferring) to any new area, you must start by contacting your case worker/manager in the current state or area that you live in. Share your interest in porting out of your current area and your case manager will start the paperwork to determine if you are eligible to move. Please share the information below with your case worker/manager to contact our office to discuss your port if you are interested in one of the counties we serve. Please note that THDA does not manage all Housing Choice Vouchers in the state of Tennessee. THDA manages only 72 of the 95 counties in Tennessee. Please see the counties we manage at https://thda.org/help-for-renters-section-8/housing-choice-voucher-program/thda-field-office-contact-information There are other housing authorities within Tennessee that have Housing Choice Voucher programs. Please check the area that you would like to live in and contact that local housing authority too.
Our phone number is 615-815-2200 and our receptionist should be able to send you to the right person depending on what your question is. You can also check our website at www.thda.org.

THDA's Housing Modification and Ramp Program provides funding to United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee to construct ramps and make other modifications to assist persons with disabilities with access to their homes throughout Tennessee.
THDA celebrates and honors the men and women who serve in our country’s military with the Homeownership for the Brave program. Homeownership for the Brave is a type of Great Choice Home Loan that offers financial assistance along with these added benefits: reduced interest rate by half percentage point (0.5%), waive requirements to be a first-time homeowner in all areas of Tennessee, borrow up to 100% of home’s purchase price with a VA-backed loan or 96.5% with FHA or USDA-RD loans.
