My mother who is nearly 90 years old decided it was time for her to explore learning more about her hearing levels. I accompany her on most medical appointments — just to stay abreast of all her quality of life expectations. My observations after three visits with the Audiologist at Hearing Services of Franklin {Spring Hill Offices} is very positive. The attention to the smallest details that Dr. Jennifer Kilgore exhibits are highly evident & the quiet empathetic manner of the staff is welcoming. Highly recommend this staff if a loved one is showing signs of hearing loss & wants to explore options. BTW — mom was fitted with high quality rechargeable devices and she’s been pretty excited about the improvements in her hearing new sounds & voices more clearly.

Each hearing aid is equipped with a microphone. This microphone picks up sounds in the environment and turns the sound to electrical energy that is sent through a set of amplifiers and other modifying circuits. The modified signals are then sent to a miniature speaker, also known as a receiver, and is delivered clearly to the patient’s ear.
There are a variety of factors that go into how much hearing aids will cost. The cost depends on the type of hearing aid, how many special features it has, and the professional services needed with the hearing aid. So, hearing aids vary in price. Our goal is to provide each patient with the proper device suited to your individual hearing loss, lifestyle and budget.
Some great questions to ask your Audiologist before buying a hearing aid include: – What features in a hearing aid would be most useful to me? – How long is the warranty? – Can the warranty be extended? – What exactly does the warranty cover? – Do the benefits that come with newer technologies make up for the extra cost? – Is there a trial period? If so, how long? – Will I be given a loaner aid when repairs need to be completed? – What services are included as part of my hearing aid purchase? And for how long?
Hearing aids are very personal products. Before you agree to buy hearing aids, you must be committed to making them work. Most of the hearing aids at Hearing Services of Franklin come with trial periods. During the trial period you must return to the office for at least two follow-up visits. These visits allow our Audiologists to fine-tune your instruments. If you are not able to adjust to your instruments for any reason, they may be returned for a 100% refund within 30 days from purchase.
If your Audiologist finds that you have hearing loss in both ears, they will recommend a hearing aid for each ear. Utilizing two hearing aids will help to maximize the benefits that come from hearing aids and allow you to be a better listener.
Should your hearing change, your hearing aids will need to be adjusted to compensate for the change. Most modern hearing aids can be adjusted as your hearing changes, but your Audiologist at Hearing Services of Franklin will be able to determine if an adjustment is possible or if you will need new technology.
