Appointment only. Guess they don’t need my blood.

*Updated: Customer support has reached out and seems interested in improving the experience for neurodivergent donors. The actual blood donation process went well and he did do well despite his initial anxiety. I've modified my review accordingly and will visit this location again since this seems like it may have been an anomalous occurrence. I look forward to being able to update again with a full 5 stars after the next visit. Original Review: My adult son who is autistic gets nervous donating blood and we were told that one of us could go with him when he donated however I was just refused entry for his donation appointment. We likely won’t come back to this location unfortunately. We are both fully vaccinated and arrived masked but the lady at the door wouldn’t honor what we were previously told.

Staff is friendly and the process is explained thoroughly. Please help save lives, donate and encourage others to donate as well! 😁

Appointments and masks are required here. Those that are fully vaccinated do not have to wear a mask during their donation. Volunteers and staff are very friendly and ensure you are comfortable. Lite refreshments after to ensure you are able to leave, normally you stay between 10-15 minutes, though some may take a bit longer. Reccomend downloading the Red Cross Donor App. It let's you keep track of your appointments to schedule/reschedule, physical at the time of donation, how many times you donated and when you can donate again.

The red Cross is non-profit, they will occasionally offered Amazon gift cards. You give blood to the red Cross to help people who need it.
Yes. They do the antibody test as well. Always a need for blood and platelets. Appointments are required, if you decide not to donate, please let them know ahead of time.
You can also visit their website and see all the different options. They have certain appointments based on what type of donation you're giving and also explain the differences between each type of donation. After your first visit, you'll create an account where you'll be able to see your donation history. Also, when you go to an appointment they try to schedule you're next one for you otherwise you can schedule it again when you're ready. It's so great to donate and help save lives! ❣
I've never had to wait over five minutes to give blood or platelets.
none. it's a donation.
no
I found this answer online from a Canadian source but I believe would be applicable here also. A false reactive (or "false-positive") test result means your initial screening test was reactive—in other words, suggested the presence of something that would prevent you from donating blood—but a more precise follow-up test was negative.
