I understand they have thousands of cars to get through, but the personnel can be polite and say hello, sorry, or please... felt like I was dealing with heartless and careless individuals who hate their job. The extra star was for the passing of inspection.

Employees were really really nice and very efficient move the lines quickly

Although there was quite a line, they were moving cars through at about 3 minutes each - that's pretty quick. Best of all, the lady who assisted me was so pleasant. My hats off to her for maintaining such a positive attitude. Good job!

agree. no information anywhere. does anyone know when it's going to open up again?
It's so confusing. I don't know why MVA puts there website and info on the link for the Emission Inspection site. It's stupid. Who makes these decisions?
You can check Carfax. The MVA usually reports your data to Carfax when you get your vehicle checked out.
No appointments necessary. Had my car inspected there last week.
Saturday we are open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday we are closed.
I hear you... All I can say is that when I went there on October 21st, they were open.
Times are listed online on their site and also in Google Maps. No appts can be made.
No go to MVA first, go to main office, the MVA Express would not be able to help you
We've gone without anything, just need registration.
It is about the car, not your age. The car must be inspected. Anyone can drive it there.
You might try to get an extension. If you have a car registered in MD, needs the test in MD....
MDO will send you your next notification, when your car is due for inspection
Check Your email. I reviewed my first notification via email. Later a month before was due I got my mailing notification. If is due just stop by any service location. Good luck
Do you need the letter from MVA for the emission test? I lost that letter and wonder how test results be properly registered with MVA without that letter, and whether I need to ask MVA to send me another one. Any insights are very much appreciate.
Yes
Yes. Unless you go when they first open, be prepared to wait in line.
Yes you can, but I suggest you to drive your car for a week (after erase the code/s. The reason behind this, is becouse the computer goes into a checking mode, which last a few starts, warm ups and trips)
It should be 2 years
I received an email that I had to have it done prior to a date. When I arrived they didn't ask for a notice. I am assuming they verified online.
Waldorf, Beltsville, Rockville, Clinton
Just go but not near the end of month. Lines are longer
Not sure i paid when I took my vehicle to get the smoke test
Yes, you will pay $29 instead of $14.
Closed until Jan 3, 2021. Reopening Jan 4.
https://mva.maryland.gov/Pages/default.aspx all person to person services closed and will reopen Jan.4
Not in Maryland.
Yes, they are open - I went last week.
None. Thats the real deal. Once it's open, you can take the car down. Otherwise you have until the place opens
Yes, right now they only taking people with appointments only.
15 to $25
Emission places close until next year
I didn't see one there
You can do it online. If you Google "Maryland VEIP extension" the first result takes you where you need to be.
You can we long as you have your car registration.
I had the same question. Visited in an evening and it took only 5 mins to do the inspection. Crew had 4 or 5 lanes open even there were no much cars.
Yes admissions are done every two years, they fine you 15.00 a month but also it is reported to the MVA, if your car doesn't pass and you can prove u spent 450.00 in repairs , they usually issue a waiver.
O yes.a thing the are 15 dollar more a guess but os not much Miss.
Yes. The MDOT MVA also has 24-hour self-service VEIP kiosks.
The best hour is the one that's most convenient for you. :-)
It depends what time. They will be open regular business hours, which can be found on their website
Actually you can have the test without the notice. We purchased a used car the dealership forgot to test we took the car up to this VEIP station and they took care of the testing without the notice.
Yes, you can take it there and the cost is on the notice that came in the mail.
Even if cars are waiting in line, make sure the facility isn't closed due to a federal or state holiday. Times and dates are posted on the main office door, so if no one is there by the "open" time, then they are most likely closed for a Holiday. You can leave your car in line and walk to the office, which is usually at the drive in entrance area of the facility. It would be unusual for any MVA office or emissions facility to open late, without posting a notice or having a person notify the people in line. You can check for times and holiday close dates at all Federal or State facility websites. Gov employees work like clockwork. If they aren't there at open time, then the facility is closed. Go home and check their calendar for the next day you can go. And if you are late with your emissions test, then talk to the manager prior to testing. They are reasonable people and will help you with your situation.
