This is a terrible Hertz they charged me $400 for smoking when I don't smoke and claimed there was ash and smelled of smoke. It took almost a month to get what the charge was and pictures. In the pictures the "ash" looked just like a small amount of dirt. I asked a friend who works for Hertz and he could not do anything because it's not a corporate location. I will never use Hertz again from this.

After a long day of screwed up flights we landed last Wednesday night at 1155pm. Able to reach a gentlemen and explained our long day and we just landed. He ensured us he would wait for us. Had everything ready for us when we got over to him and got us on our way. Best customer service ever

I was falsely accused of smoking in a car by Hertz at the Columbus, Ohio Airport. I don't smoke. No one smoked in the car while I had it. I didn't notice any smoke smell when I had the car. But AFTER I turned the car in I got hit with a $238 charge for cleaning. I questioned it and got back pictures of."evidence" that I had smoked in the car, but they were all low resolution and I couldn't really even tell what they were trying to show. Since then I've learned that this has become common at Hertz. If you do rent from here I'd strongly suggest you document the car condition before and after the rental.

Do I need anything besides ID and credit card
There are several classes of vehicles, including compact cars, full size sedans (like a Camry or Altima), "premium" and luxury vehicles, and some trucks, like a Jeep and what not. The base rental charger varies based on the class of the car and demand, and then taxes and fees are added, which are pretty substantial. So you can rent most compact and regular full-size cars for around $20, which becomes $30-40 after taxes and fees. On a busy day, even a compact car can rent for $80 (around $100 after taxes and fees) or more. You can get price quotes online using the Hertz website. Play around with different dates if you have any flexibility in your travel. You can save money, even on personal travel, if your employer has an agreement with Hertz for car rentals (it's called a CDP, and you'll probably have to get the CDP number from your employer).
