The Failure to Appear Court Room (5th Floor - Room C or 5C) was overcrowded today and would not see anyone past 8:30 am so ALWAYS best bet is to arrive at 6:45 am - ANYTIME you need to attend this court or else you wasted your morning and whole day. Otherwise, you will have to come back the following day and pay for parking again and hope you are close to the front of the line. The process works like this: they will tell you so long as you don’t have any major points or it’s been 5 years since your last infraction/incident your best option is plead NOLO (this means that you will get NO points on your license (not reported to DDS), but you will have to pay the fine you would have received anyway plus court fees. In my case, for example, I ran a red light so it was around $300 at the time of this writing. Overall, it is a a big sham that the court cannot handle the volume of people necessary when they are told to appear when requested and then asked to return the following day. It is a complete waste of time and goes to show our courts are still stuck in the stone ages. I know the queuing and notification government technology will eventually catch up, but I would probably be dead by then. Overall, avoid all tickets that you can and abide by the law so you don’t waste your precious time by giving it to the government, and that goes for your money as well.

All the reviews are accurate. I received a parking ticket and appealed the citation and requested a hearing. I waited to hear from them for a court date. Apparently my court date was scheduled a month ago and I never received any written communication from them that a date had been scheduled. Now my ticket amount doubled and my only option is to pay. I now know to check the website daily or weekly for a scheduled court date because they may not let you know. I'm very surprised I didn't receive anything in the mail.

No stars. Zero. This has to be the most unprofessional, uncourteous offices of all. For a parking ticket violation in Fulton Co, ( faulty ticket vending machine), but it still is my mistake, so did not contest it and paid the fine of $40, days in advance online, but I still got a court notice in the mail to appear which was baffling. The ticket was generated a week after the paid date and the case was still open. If you pay a ticket, the issue is closed ( common sense it is). To start with, a parking ticket violation is not on the list of mandatory court appearances at all. I very well knew that it must be a technical error that issued a court appearance. So I called the court, explained the situation, the lady that I spoke to insisted that I still need to visit the court, she said the judge wants to see me ( did not make any sense at all). For what? It was not DUI, hit and run, speeding/ jumping a signal even for it to require a court appearance as per law. Doesn't the court have more serious things to worry about? And it's the duty of the officer, Ms. Rashida Davis, ( the notice has her name on it) to check if the notice to appear is really necessary in the first place . But She did not. I was sure that this was a glitch, but was even more certain that they will come after me if I don't attend the court saying I failed to appear and they can very well turn it into a bigger offense conveniently covering up their irresponsibility and ineptitude. So on a Monday morning, I had to be there. I live about 50 miles away from the Municipal court of ATL, had to go in there with my one year old, drive time of 1.5 hrs each way. I finally reported to the court, the judge wasn't there, the lady at the front just glanced at my notice and simply said you are free to go. I was so furious, but yet managed to politely ask her why I was made to report to the court then. She simply said : " Oh it must be an error ". I was distraught at her nonchalant response. They wasted my time, I had to take off from work, my baby was uncomfortablely crying pretty much all trip. What an inconvenience to the public and a blatant MISUSE OF AUTHORITY. If a ticket had been paid off, it means you are pleading guilty and the case is closed. The court not only wasted my time, but also its time as well. They need to take their jobs seriously and not bring disrepute to the honorable court by their tardiness. But who can reprimand the people there?, unfortunately nobody. They technically have to compensate me for my time, inconvenience caused, fuel, parking ticket, but the lady simply said : " You are free to go, next one please". Not even an apology, high handed lordly behavior, please remember that you work in/for the system, you don't own it. You are not a monarch. Poor service, no courtesy, incompetent, covering up their mistakes. Irresponsible, insolent bunch. No wonder, the place has a less than 2 star rating. DO NOT COVER UP YOUR MISTAKES.

Parking is very expensive and there is a walk to get into the building. This makes it difficult for people with health issues. The Atlanta traffic does not help. Make sure you allow for traffic jams. Once inside the building, for me, finding your way around is a little confusing. I did not see a clear sign for the elevator. Had to ask someone where the elevators were. My courtroom experience was intimidating and baffling. I was there with my proof of corrections, but the officer was not, so I was given only one option of rescheduling. This citation was issued in December 2021 and scheduled for court June 2022. The burden of a pending court case has been difficult. Needless to say, I did not want to reschedule. I was willing to pay the fine and move on with my life. However, that was not allowed, not an option for me. I have to allow the officer to appear. I'm praying for a better outcome when I have to go back. Please pray with me.

Yes, unless you call them and explain what happened and gt another court date
I Clark D Calhoun had to pay 370.00 Dollars by the fourth!!! my car got stolen new years eve all my paper work was in the car i haven't had a chance to get the police report i need an extension please.
The traffic court is one of the busiest in the nation like the Airport and most times cannot handle the volume of people. Your best bet is to go in person and early.
Courts closed
They I had to go to court can't send it in
You can pay it online but it also depends on what type.of ticket it is
Found out at 8am but call to make sure for your individual needs! Good luck and God bless!
Yes
Come ant way and tell them whats going on they are up and going with recording so come in the morning ok
Yes the court is open. Atlanta doesn't recognize Columbus day.
If a case is dismissed it’s always best to get a copy of the dismissal.
Call them and they will let you know wether or not you are required to show up in person ( Which it sounds like) or if they can take your payment over the phone
You don’t appeal a traffic ticket. You appeal a conviction. I would recommend that you hire an attorney.
No, call 311, or go on the municipal court website, for information.
Their closed today
On there website.
They will be open Monday
No, closed on 9/2.
Yes.
Your license is not automatically suspended but the FTA warrant is out there. Just dont get pulled over. The Municipal Court of Atlanta, allows you to walk in into court to address the FTA without being arrested or going to jail. The only thing is that you will have to be the first 100 people to be added on the calendar in order to see the judge that day and the doors opens at 7 am first come first serve. The spots fills up quickly. Be prepared to stay about 3 to 5 hrs so dont pay at the pay meters. If you missed the cut off, you will be giving a reset court date 2 to 3 weeks out. The FTA arrest warrant will still be out there until you see the judge. If you missed your court date 30 days or more, a request to suspend your license will be sent to DDS and thats a whole nother ball game. Bring money for your fine or you will be placed on probation. Hope this helps.

No! I listened to the recording for 25min and 18 seconds on 3 different days I get disconnected at that point, so I've come to the conclusion they do not ever answer the phones, gotta tote your butt down there...
Hell no
Who cares
Nope, never. I had to drive down there to get any answers from them and even then everyone there is incompetent.
If they was closed on 1/18 2018 will they send me another citation for a nother corut day
The only way to get any answers from anyone there is to go there and demand answers from an actual person. Calling them is of zero use
Who cares
Are you at the courthouse was wondering if the doors was open
J Bone call the courthouses, but good luck with getting someone to answer.
Call the courthouse and see if you can get it rescheduled.
Who cares
It takes 3-2 weeks before your court date to appear online
I ran into something similar a while back you just need to find another number... calling the number listed on Google will get you nowhere do a little research and you can find another number
Dont know
Good luck and no they never answer
