Brought a class of 15 high school seniors to watch the Macbeth matinee. The show, actors, stage, and accomodations were wonderful. Would've been a five star rating if only... During the beginning of the show we (the audience) were advised that if we left we would not be let in until intermission. Additional "rules" were given.. none of which mentioned leaving the premises. During the 20 minute intermission, a student asked if they could get a snack they left in the car. I agreed, seeing as the staff encouraged snacking during this time. When my two students were near the entrance, a staff member (blonde hair) yelled at them from across the room ("Nope!! You are NOT allowed to leave once the show starts get back to your seats"). This caused a noticeable hush among everyone and embarrassed the students. It was done in poor taste and if this was indeed a rule it should have been shared during the introduction along the other cited rules. During the first act, despite having told us not be late.. the staff ushered in another school mid scene. The shuffling and seating of this group was sooo loud and disruptive that it took away from the scene. Additionally, the intermission was a mere 10 mins later. The tardy school could (and should) have waited until then to enter. These isolated incidents put a damper on our experience.

First time here, I saw Much Ado about Nothing with a few friends and was really blown away by the whole experience! The building/decor, the drinks, the stage, the staff and the cast are SPECTACULAR and really set a period vibe. The show was honestly laugh-till-you-tear-up hysterical with just enough modern references thrown in. *bring a sweater, seriously, it's delightfully chilly inside

Always an enjoyable time with well done shows and refreshments

For the most part we recommend some of our shows to children 10 and up. Some shows are just right for kids, especially Shakespeare comedies. Please be aware that Shakespeare was a bawdy playwright and it is the job of our actors to portray his words and stage directions as he intended. Unless otherwise noted, there will never be any nudity or blatant sexual acts on stage, but you can be sure of a certain amount of sexual innuendo (crotch-grabbing, for instance). We cannot be the judge of what is or isn’t appropriate as every parent has their own guidelines as to what they feel is right for their child to see. Infants should always be left at home, as a crying/fussy/noisy baby is a distraction for the patrons around you and the actors on stage. It has been our experience that inevitably a parent has to take the noisy infant/baby into the lobby for the duration of the performance and they miss out on the show.
We are moving in that direction but cannot confirm it just yet. Stay tuned! We will announce what’s happening as soon as we know it on social media!
We will open again August 5, 2021.

A lot of people park across the street at Emory, but I'm not sure about a school bus. I would ask the Tavern directly for special functions. I'm assuming you're bringing kids or a group.
At the Emory Midtown hospital accross the street. Parking is $5, but ifbyou showbthe attendant your ticket stub on the way out, they will give you $1 off.
