Clean rooms all newly Renovated everything at this place is good except the elderly Indian man who runs the front desk his wife is super sweet and there younger son, But he is horribly rude. Also considering the area it's in its really a chill spot to stay we loved our room. All except the bathroom walls were a bit dirty.

I wish I could give no stars. This place is HORRIBLE. We arrived and the door said no service without a mask but then I walked in the lady wasnt wearing a mask. We got into the room and the tv didnt work and the chair was broken at the desk. When I went to the office for a new room the lady showed me 5 different rooms. All of them were dirty and all the furniture was broken. One room the bed was so caved in. I pointed out that the skirt and sheet on the bed were very dirty and the lady said she cant wash them all the time. There were dead bugs in the shower and dirty around the tub. Having three kids with us and the room booked for the week we decided to not stay there because it was gross. I went to the office and the lady said she had to charge me for one night because im canceling. I told her she is not providing a clean room but she insisted that there was nothing wrong with all 5 rooms. They ended up charging me for one night. I guess thats how they make there money. I will never come back to this NASTY hotel.

This would be a very nice room if everything was in good repair (2-stars for the room could have easily been 4 or 5 with repairs). However, the dresser was broken, there was a hole in the outside of the bathroom door, and the toilet never flushed properly during our two-night stay. It also took a bit of effort to get the room door latch properly and lock. That said, the room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the price was in our budget. Although we barely used ours it was nice to have a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. Location was ideal for us as we were visiting friends in the Craddock neighborhood of Portsmouth. Some other reviews complained about the beds. We found them to be firm but comfortable. Blankets are not provided during the summer, but each room has its own thermostat. If warm-natured and cold-natured folks are sharing a room, you might want to pick up a blanket (there are discount stores nearby on George Washington Highway). If you are noise-sensitive, I'd recommend bringing earplugs. There is noise from the road and this hotel seems popular with contractors who wake early. I also heard kids laughing and shouting outside as a family was checking in late one night. Personally, I like that the place seems to have a diverse mix of customers. If you need a first floor room (there are no elevators) call ahead to check availability. Also note that free breakfasts ended during the pandemic. However there is a Hardee's within walking distance and several other places to get inexpensive breakfast less than 1/2 mile away (toward Portsmouth on George Washington Highway).

Days inn are usually decent. This place APPEARS decent, but the floor was unswept, there's some nasty stain on the bed skirt and the room smells. Grime in the grout in the shower and grime on the walls, and I couldn't even make coffee, the disposable tray for the coffee pouch was not there, not stirs. When I sat down in the chair at the desk, the chair broke and I toppled over backwards and was stuck like that for a few minutes because of the arm rests and my legs were under the desk. I called the front desk and he said that there's nothing he can do until the next day. Didn't even offer an apology. I went to take a shower, and the knob fell off in my hand. I'm glad I only booked one night. Going to be in town 2-3 days.... I'll be staying somewhere else tonight. They never did replace the chair in the morning.

That's because they know you can go anywhere else and it will be cheaper. Also they do no clean like they are suppose to. The husband is money hungry and will try to hit you over the head in prices because they failed at finishing their renovations.
