Relatively clean. Close-by. Easy in and out. Plenty of recycling bins. Attendant on duty. We can help them by recycling more and being sure to sort the material better.

If this place does not at least meet your expectations, the problem might be your expectations. My only gripe is that it is randomly closed on Wednesdays, which also happens to be the day my internal autopilot picks as the best day to load the garbage into the car and drive down there. I do that probably once or twice a year—getting all the way to the locked gate and then realizing it’s Wednesday.

Does the Warren County waste station accept hazardous waste? I have an old mercury thermometer that I need to get rid of. I looked all around and can't find this information anywhere.

The County holds periodic hazardous waste collection days. The next one is this Saturday, October 31st, in the Front Royal Fire Department parking lot on Commerce Ave. from 8 to 2. You can call Warren County at (540) 636-4600 and ask about the Household Hazardous Waste Collection program.
