Part of my moral and ethical code is to keep your personal and sensitive information safe. What is said in therapy is confidential. Since I'm a private pay therapist, any note taking I do is performed on a HIPAA certified platform, with the sole purpose of being used for my notes and never sent to your insurance company.

It is my philosophy to treat the person and the underlying causes and conditions, not a diagnosis. Insurance companies are designed to reimburse for the treatment of an illness. Therefore, a diagnosis is required before any reimbursement is allowed. Therapy and recovery can take place for those with or without a diagnosable illness. I do not take insurance. I like to make sure the modalities I use and services given are not going to be restricted by a person not participating directly in your immediate therapeutic process. I believe that therapy should be guided by you and not an insurance company. WIth that said, I can offer a superbill/invoice. To find out what your insurance plan will reimburse you for, I can provide you with questions to ask them upon request.
