They don’t care, no response, too slow. Terrible experience.

VERY poor attention to help gather required items needed for their permitting review. Lucky if someone responds to you and when they do they don’t inform you of the proper required submittals needed for approval. One of the worst jurisdictions to do business in. They need to find staff that is willing to help the public and is knowledgeable in their fields.

This has to be the worst permitting center I have had to deal with. They DO NOT answer the phones/return voicemails and they DO NOT respond to emails. The only way to get something done is in person but they will tell you to use the online permitting system, which is even worse.

Update 2022: they’ve really improved, a lot, and updated to an online permitting system for plans, etc. even with the glitches it’s still working well. And, they’ve been responsive to phone calls, too. Update 2021- Big improvements! While it still takes 3 weeks (their words-not mine) to get a Fire Protection system permit, They seem to be getting it together and embracing the situation that everyone is in. And, specifically, phone responses are better than other localities that I've been working in (permits/plans). Each time I've called I have spoken to a REAL human having good knowledge about plans and permits. UPDATE: Things have improved with responsiveness and processing, however, still very slow as compared to pre-covid. Just terrible...No progress even after 10 days. Nothing. I dropped off permit application and check 10 days ago...check still not cashed and permit not processed. It's like they are not even accountable. Also calls go to voicemail. BUT I KNOW THEY ARE STILL GETTING PAID - while I can not get paid or even work because they refuse to work and I need a permit. If they cant process permits, then they should waive the requirement. Other local, bigger jurisdictions are doing a better job.
