I had been staying here for three days and when I get back to my hotel room after a long day's work, there is an overwhelming, unmistakable smell of sewage coming from the bathroom filling the entire room. It was not there when I left this morning and is 100% the smell of sewage, not something one person did. I called the front desk, maintenance came and confirmed the smell, someone else from the front desk came and confirmed the smell. I was then offered to have someone come spray aerosol to help with smell. When I said that that won't resolve the smell long term (overnight) nor prevent the particles that I'm breathing of sewage, I was offered to change to the exact type of room I already had. So, after paying for room that should be acceptable, I was offered to repack my suitcase, carry it to a new room, and unpack in the exact same type of room I already paid for - at 11pm. Their offer left me feeling like I get the consequences of their inability to provide what was paid for without recourse. All the clothes I ironed first day in preparation for my work week here, too bad. Wrinkled again in the quick move to escape the overbearing smell (I had to pack with the door open to help air out the room, it was eye watering). Not to mention that all my clothes now smelled like sewage. After stating as such, they offered me a different room, which is also the exact same room as I paid for, except with slippers and a robe. I've stayed at this hotel a total of 4 times, and 2 of those times I have had to change rooms because of a major, unacceptable issue with the room. That's not even mentioning the several other issues I have that are not worth detailing here like how they charged my card for food/drink I didn't order and required me emailing them for 3 weeks to finally resolve it. My company uses this hotel exclusively for all of their workers and I will be detailing this experience and recommending to never book here again. Update: they agreed. Also, internet speeds are unacceptably slow. Don't expect to participate in any zoom meetings or have any reliability of internet. Note: the bar staff are wonderful. Helen is exceptionally friendly and made me feel very welcomed.
