I wouldn't send a dog or my worst enemy to this facility. The way my mother was treated for the 2 mo. she was there was despicable. The way they treat the elderly with such disrespect is uncalled for. Elderly abuse???? She was put in diapers because they didn't want to have 2 nurses help her to the bathroom. She complained that when they would clean her they were very rough. The day I was there she told me that the nurse spoke to her very angry saying "Don't you say it, don't you DARE say it". Meaning I don't want to hear you say you're hurting me. My mother had macular degeneration and could barely see and when I filed a complaint with the head nurse (whom I have no respect for either) she asked my mother what the person looked like. She's asking someone who can barely see. COME ON! All she had to do was check with her nursing staff and see who was there with my mother changing her. If it wasn't that this was the only place that could take my mother, she would not have been there. Believe me we tried to get her elsewhere. I guess that's why they have so many openings because no one wants to put up with their (you fill in the blank). I told that head nurse that" if you are a nurse and can't handle patients you are in the wrong profession!!!" They over drugged my mother to quiet her down, she would yell out if she couldn't find her call button, that was like her life line. Well that's a BIG NO NO!!! Their best way to handle her was...Let's drug her to keep her sedated. More like she was comatose. Her family doctor said that medication was to strong for her along with another medication they were giving her was not good for my mother and the doctor wanted it removed. Because my mother was so miserable there, anxious , depressed, agitated scared etc... it caused her to have a stroke. She made fist and shook them and told me this is how I feel inside. I understood that and told her she could have a stroke if that continued. They called my sister and said she needed to come in and sign papers and put her in their care for a nursing home at the cost of $13,000.00 a month. Mom would complain to my sister and me that the nurses there were not nice and rough.There is absolutely no compassion at this facility. Mom left that facility on April 9 and passed away on April 21. HOW'S THAT FOR CARE!!! I feel that if my mom wasn't so upset with this facility she wouldn't have had the stroke which caused her heart to now function at 25%. Apparently looking at the reviews she's not the first person to die shortly after leaving this facility. Don't respond back because reading the reviews you have a standard response to EVERYONE!!!! I will be filing a complaint against this location with the state!

Where to begin? Before I begin let me give you a little insight on my mom. She suffers from Macular degeneration, so her sight is failing her and has limited sight. She is hard of hearing and also suffers from spinal stenosis, which cause her to fall. My mom (93 years old) spent several weeks in this rehab center (February 7th to April 9th) During her stay she did not want to be there however the staff was seemed at first to be helpful. While there my mom suffered a stroke and was sent to the hospital. When she returned back there she was filled with anxiety and depression. They would call me to add more medications to the point I felt she was being over medicated. I asked for a list of meds with dosage and went to her family doctor. At one point I came in to find my mom sleeping; there was a physical/ occupational therapist trying to wake her. She couldn't nor could I because she was "heavily" sedated. Two days later I came in early to the same situation. When told she was sleeping I told the nurse that I wanted her off of that medication, which was done. A nurse (head nurse) told me that Administration was in and during a 4 hour period my mom rang her service call button something like 14 times. Now it is understandable that that can be annoying, however giving a person medication that shuts them down is not good. It is my opinion that this was done to keep my mom from yelling out and buzzing them. In addition, my mom hit one of the nurses and spit on another...knowing that this is not a behavior that is tolerated and very unlike my mom, I wondered what was happening to her there. My mom would tell me about nurses coming into her room who were very rude to her. I know that my mom was no angel while in there and I'm not making excuses for her BUT she is 93 years old. She was brought into the rehab with a broken T7 vertebra and suffered a stroke while in there! She is old and was confused at times. I know that my mom was not there perfect patient but she is MY MOM and it hurts to know that she was treated that way. Now, there were some wonderful people there. One young lady (with long blonde hair) was so dear to my mom. Three different young men were extremely sweet and kind to her. I just wish the nursing staff was a lot better! On top of that they lost some of my mom's clothes. If you bring in clothing you should leave with that same amount of clothing.
