How can I donate my mother in laws old wheel chair and wheel chair lift?
P P, We will be open again at 0900 on Monday morning. It should be no problem to get you set up with what you need and you can get it in the mail that morning. Semper Fortis, Dr. F.
Nice and very helpful thankful for DAV
Give the DAV office a call. They can answer your questions
We take calls between 9-11am Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. If no one answers, they may be on the other line with a client. Please leave a message and we will call you back within 2 business days.
Yes they accept all items from toys to furniture
The only Saturday they're open is the last Saturday of each month. They close at 2pm Mon-Fri. I HIGHLY recommend going to them directly for questions. I trust them with everything!
Simply stop in, physically in person , and they will set you up for success. Great DAV outlet, everyone here is fun and smiles as well as professional.
Sorry. You need police and maybe attorney.
Yes, we do that assistance for Veterans; however, assistance is limited to a cap. If your needs are greater than that, we have partners with whom we work where we can help you source the remainder. You will need a copy of your DD-214, rental agreement (and eviction notice, if served), last two months of bank statements, and verification (proof) of ability to pay remainder of the rent. We are open M-F, 9am-2pm and will be open 12/15 from 9am-Noon.
Our Chapter works with the STUFF Thrift store on the SW corner of Stapley and Main St. in Mesa. When we have Veterans in need of clothing or other items, they work with us to provide the items at no cost to the Veteran. They are extremely supportive of Veterans and highly recommended. Dr. Carl Forkner DAV Chapter 8 Adjutant
You can become a member of the DAV with no disability if over 80. If under 80, you can be a member even with a zero rating. A zero rating is simply an acknowledgement by the VA that something happened in the service (that needs to recorded) that might get worse in the future. Our Chapter files benefits claims if you need further help. D. Magish, Adjutant
Please contact the S.T.U.F.F. store at 480-649-1288. SW corner of Main St. and Stapley in Mesa. (1135 E. Main St. Mesa) and they can take and, if possible with your time constraints, arrange for pickup.
Dear Robin, The simple answer is Yes.. Sometimes our members or people who just want to help disabled veterans leave something in their will. In addition, sometimes families will do an "in lieu of flowers" request with The DAV Chapter 08 receiving the donations. We are an all volunteer organization so all funds donated are used to support the disabled veterans that we serve. If you would like more particulars, please call the Chapter house at 890-2424 between 9 and 2 Monday through Friday or stop by at 655 N. Gilbert Road in Mesa. Ask for the Adjutant, Commander, or Admin Assistant and we will be happy to talk to you. D. Magish, Adjutant
