I’ve been servicing my 2015 Subaru at Annapolis Subaru for about 3.5 years. Previously it was dealership serviced out West in Utah. I spend, on average, $2k for routine service each year and always do the recommended service and repairs on top of that. I don’t drive a lot, my 7 year old car has 84k miles on it. I work from home. I thought I had made a mistake or misunderstood something and disregarded an experience as my own misunderstanding but today, as I sit at another Subaru dealership ( Gateway in Delmar) I’m realizing I may have been scammed or misled. I’ll explain. Two years ago, I took my Forester in for routine service, a recommendation was made that I replace my rear wheel bearings. I did this. It was $2k. Then, a year and a half later ( beginning of 2022) they say I need to replace my rear wheel bearings. I thought, ok, maybe it was the fronts and I misunderstood the first time. Didn’t question it, I trusted that they knew what they were doing. September of this year, 30 or so days before I am writing this I had my car in to replace the rear brake pads and machine the rotors upon their recommendation at my service in June. I am now at Gateway Subaru performing the 90k service before winter and am told I need new rear brake pads and rotors. The technician took me to my car to show me that the pads measure 4mm, less than half their life and close to the “danger zone”. Thankfully Gateway is taking care of it but y’all, there is no way in hell I wore through brand new pads in 30 days as someone who works from home. Lisa at Annapolis, though helpful over the phone, only stated how weird it was that the pads wore down so fast. Keep your records and double check their work. Y’all are welcome to contact me to discuss this situation - I’m beyond disappointed and wonder if I paid twice for the rear bearings too because I was too trusting that the work was performed right the first time. The photo attached is the tech at Gateway showing me the rear pads that are supposedly 30 days old.

Overall, had a very good experience buying a used car. From sales (Ottie) to signing paperwork to follow up, very professional imho.

Really nice staff and I wasn't bombarded with pushy sales people. We walked around the lot and they just said to ask when we wanted help or had questions. It was different than many experiences I've had at dealerships. Quite nice actually. I plan on buying a car from them. Update after one year: I reduced my rating from 5 to 3 stars based on my experience with the service department. I did buy a Subaru, but bought it from Wilkins because this branch did not have the exact car I was looking for. I went for service here because it is close to my house. Long story short, I wanted someone to drive the care because the fuel mileage dropped drastically and the car was lurching on uphills and downhills. The service guy was extremely condescending but said someone would drive it while I left it for service. He also told me he was the service manager when I asked to speak to one. Took the car home and immediately had 4 low tire warning lights and the first time I used the wiper fluid that set off the low fluid warning light. It was as if they de-serviced my car. Maybe I'll do another update next year, stay tuned... Update after second service: I again lowered my rating, from 3 to 1 this time. The girl at the service desk was very friendly but informed me that I really need to service my care every 6000 miles, not the current 12,000. I told her they did the first service at 6000 miles. She said they did not, they only checked a fuel issue. So not only did they not investigate the issue during the first service appointment (perhaps bad gas because it gradually worked itself out) they didn't even perform the first oil change / service. I drove a new car 12,000 miles before service. They also sent me home with four low tires and no washer fluid. I've called and left messages and have not received a response. I don't normally leave negative reviews, but this is unacceptable.

My rating is till several stars too high! The communication with the service advisor was terrible, and she did not return multiple calls both myself and my insurance company made. Well over $5,000 later it became apparent Annapolis Subaru did NOT do the repairs they said they did. Not only that, they damaged my car and it appears they stole my battery replacing it with an inferior one. I will NEVER return to Annapolis Subaru, and I will let others know this place is a joke. I am reporting Annapolis Subaru for insurance fraud as this was paid for by my insurance company.

Does the Subaru cross trek have auto breaking in emergency situations?

Yes, in regular driving and cruise control. This is one of the main reasons we decided on this car. As Annapolis Subaru noted it is called Eyesight and it saved me from hitting 2 deer one early morning at dawn, there is no way I could have reacted as fast as the car did... no damage to my vehicle and didn't hurt the deer. I highly recommend.
