Got in line at 820am, the office opens at 9am. They opened the doors for check in for the first 15/20 people at 850. I was called and seen by 904am and was finished getting my new card by 915am. Mr Jones answered all my questions and was very helpful. Customer service was great from everyone in the entire process.

Came in to this location to do a replacement card. I was the third person in the office right after they opened. A staff member helped get me signed in and I was called to an agent in literally one minute! I was help efficiently and was in and out of the office with all my information processed within 5 minutes total. Wow, great service!

Yes, the one at Balch Springs is open. I had to make an appointment through phone. It took almost an hour and half for someone to answer the call due to high call volumes. But other than that, the service was great and very quick. No waiting time and all the staff there were very friendly.

Idk the fax#. If you go up there you will find a new office number posted on the door. You will not be allowed to enter. From what I could tell, an armed security guard was the only one working there. Weird I know.

Having just completed this process myself I can tell you the following: first of all it not as painful as is at first appears to be. Second you will your birth certificate and some form of medical record with your name and address as proof of residency. A Dallas County birth certificate made be obtained at the City Hall of Records downtown or at any office of a Dallas County Justice of the Peace. You need $23 in cash or money order to pay for a certified copy of your birth certificate. Because I live in the Mesquite area I went to the Dallas County Precinct #3 which is located on Galloway Ave. next to the Mesquite Municipal Center. The medical record I used was from a recent visit to Parkland Memorial Hospital but any medical record should suffice. The SSA office I used was the one in Balch Springs which is located on IH 635 LBJ Freeway. Take the Elam or Lake June exit. I recommend arriving at both offices around 10 am. And you should carefully make note of their Hrs of operation.
