Wonderful views and a well preserved piece of history. The lighthouse itself has many informational kiosks and helpful/knowledgeable staff. The trails around the lighthouse were my favorite part with some fun rock beaches to walk along.

Probably one of my new favorite places we’ve been! Admissions were very reasonable. Tour guides were well informed and had so many interesting things to talk about. Loved going to the house and touring there. The lighthouse was very neat as well. The whole history around this place was very interesting. Go here if you’re in the area and take the walk down to Pebble Beach to see the lighthouse from below. Definitely worth the view!

An early sunrise on the lighthouse edge. I hope you enjoy my photo. I wanted to capture the sun as it was level with the lighthouse top, and I had to be up in early in the darkest of morning to snap this photo. This place has spectacular 360 degree views, and there is a nice beach spot below it. Makes a great destination spot for photography and to enjoy oneself.

We went in January right when Duluth put a mandatory mask mandate in place. The lighthouse was closed but the views were amazing which is why we are giving it four stars. The learning center was informational.

During the 1900s the Steel Company Fleet use Lake Superior to transport their steel and during a storm on November 28, 1905, ⅓ of their ships were damaged. This led to Minnesota to asking the government to build a lighthouse. The government later appropriated $75,000 for a lighthouse and fog signal in 1907. The beacon that lit up the lighthouse for 59 years was powered by a . This was why and how Split Rock Lighthouse was built.
They only have a recording of them which plays in the foghorn building every 20 minutes you can't hear them from very far away, the real fog horns could be heard for 5 miles when they we active.
Up to the main lighthouse. Other than that you can get around fine.
It has a history dating back to early 1900s. One of the light house to direct ships for them not to hit the rocks around the lakes. Also, the place and the architecture is beautiful by itself. Check it out.
I believe so but you have to make arrangements for it you can go to their website and get their phone number and give them a call hope this helps
No, I'm not.
We were just there today since the lighthouse grounds reopened today. Unfortunately, they are not allowing anyone inside the lighthouse itself or the keeper's residence but it's still worth it to get an up close look.
