Really enjoyed dinner here. Found the prices to be reasonable for the portions and quality of the food given. Our server was incredibly kind and diligent to make sure we had what we needed. And the deck overlooking Lake Superior without interruption was tremendous. I read a number of reviews complaining about food quality vs. price - our table ordered cheese curds, brussels sprouts, short ribs, and Swedish meatballs and everyone enjoyed everything. Would go back!

For those staying at the Grand Superior Lounge (or not) it's a great restaurant to eat if you don't feel like going to the city. I had a breakfast/lunch at 10:30 am. They breakfast serve until 11 am I think. My food was delicious and huge portions. Specially if you want to order a side dish. We order a coffee, Egg Benedict and Avocado toast and sausage and pancakes for the side. Overall was great place and good food. Staff was nice and helpful. Highly recommend

So I just had the lemon chicken Milanese here less than 10 minutes ago. I was invited to the lodge for my niece’s birthday and this was a huge disappointment. The braised ribs which is a signature meal here was way too salty (this is what my sister ordered) but at least it was edible. This photo shows all of it nearly not eaten because after one bite I felt like I could fall asleep like rip van winkle. The chicken is pan fried and then served in a lemon cream sauce but it tastes like there is much more lemon juice than cream. Then as the chicken sits in this sauce it becomes soggy and not crispy like pan fried chicken should be. The broccolini was underdone and chewy, when veggies are underdone they tend to absorb oil from the pan and no surprise that’s what happened. In the mashed potatoes, guess what, there’s lemon too! There’s also what I think is lemon grass? Just gross, if you were to come here I would stick to a smash burger or something because the chef they have either doesn’t taste what they’re making before serving or they’re just trying too much. My brother in law said he never had this many problems with the food before and have been here three times before in the span of the past eight years. Definitely left a poor taste in my mouth, hopefully they can make up for it in the future.

gorgeous view from the dining room! the walleye entree was delicious and the wild rice soup was the best we’ve ever had. they did have a note saying they require reservations and since we just walked in the hostess made a reservation right then for us and sat us (we were there for an early dinner).
