My last visit to CA state fair was at least 12 years ago. Difference was price. The corn dog shrunk compared to decades ago. The nacho chips was stale. The best was the coffee shake. Hot cinnamon rolls was superb, and water cost $4 at the cinnamon place. I ended up buying expensive heating pads for neck, back, and feet. It will be great for my winter camping. I stopped to visit farm animals getting groomed. I went to visit Kola's cannabis exhibit. The hypocrisy that they can't even bring real samples instead of empty boxes. The state of California already has a cannabis department and they still tried to vilify THC. That was disappointing. They said maybe next year, they "might" be allowed to sell and might have a smoking lounge. 🤣
Unfortunately, I don't plan to visit the State fair anymore. There are other things to do. Overall, it's a great entertainment for different types of people. Bring money and expect an expensive with some mediocre tasting food. You're allowed to bring your own food and drinks. Check the website for details. Have fun and be safe.

Attended fair this year venue was very small, food prices outrageous! Seriously I'm not one to really complain but I paid $54 for 3 funnel cakes. I know my choice but I wanted to support vendors and let grand kids experience the fair with treats you don't find everyday. I hope next year is better and has more exhibit and vendors.

Even on a hot day there’s plenty indoor activities to keep you cool. So much to do for kids and adults. We had a blast at the silent disco and looking at all the exhibits and animals. The kids loved the rides. Great day of family fun

This was our first year back. We definitely enjoyed ourselves. It was 105 degrees, so that kept the crowd numbers low. We enjoyed feeling safe and the grounds were clean.
It was $60 for the whole day last year to rent a scooter. Problem was that they ran out by 1pm. Supposedly they are allowing us to pre-order by phone so hopefully that takes care of shortage. Keep in mind that since Veterans, Active Duty, and military dependents are free on Thursday the shortage may be there anyway. Good luck. You will have one if you get there at 1030am to get in line.
Cal Expo does have an RV park, not sure if there are any vacancies. I would call. They are pretty busy and not sure how fast they would respond to email.
They still do fireworks it's only Friday's Saturday's and Sunday's. The drone show has been postponed due to technicals difficulties but they said it should be running next weekend.
We want to leave the fair grounds to grab a bite to eat and return. How do you re-enter after leaving the fair?

What if
When is horse racing? I don't think they are every day except Monday. It would be nice if your web site were as good as prior years to see what's happening every day without consistently moving the cursor down, down, down. New Vendor?

Horse racing takes place Thursday-sunday throughout the fair dates.
Hope that it has all of it's parts when you get back to it , if it's still there . If you just chain it up on a tree or fence the Cal Expo staff may remove it.
On tuesdays the rides are $2 each and kids get in free. Not sure about the age of free admission. The bracelets are $30 monday to thursday, and $35 Friday to Sunday.
About half the fair is like 1-2 dozen carnival rides and a monorail that rides above bunch of fair areas, there's a horse race track usually no races but hosts classic car show by arena, bunch of 4H farm animals in pens to see pigs, goats, cows etc, and about 4 art exhibit halls for arts and crafts exhibits and 9/11 memorial. There's also a small water world type park connected but I think need extra ticket for that area. Each day hosts different special events as well
Yes I do know they have wheelchairs and things like that if you want right by the RV park there's an office there and I'm sure they have a lot more information on it have a good day
This year it's 24 for adults and $10 for the kids is it cost for admission although Tuesday's they have a special with State Farm and the kids are free
Depends upon the event, between 7 to 12. Parking fee is separate, about $10... But you can try to find some street side parking too which would not cost you anything...
On Tuesday kids 12 and under are free and all rides are $2 for everyone
