We have been very happy and impressed with White Oaks at McHenry. Everyone that works there has been helpful, kind, and friendly. Some of the things I love about White Oaks: -the bus trips residents can take to parks, stores, restaurants -the time residents can spend outside for exercise class, gardening, when the weather is nice -the layout and cleanliness of the building -the musical entertainers that come to perform -the therapy dogs/animals that visit weekly -the activities offered throughout the day by Doris and Deb, resident services coordinator and activity assistant, who are awesome people. It gives me peace of mind knowing our loved one is in this nurturing environment.

Certainly the decision to place a loved one in a Memory Care facility is a very difficult decision. My mother continues to have excellent care. The staff has been caring and wonderful. Despite staffing shortages in the industry White Oaks somehow is always well staffed. Communication is the best with direct lines to a nurse on staff, always. Support is provided by a doctor that visits weekly, physical therapy is on site and visits by a podiatrist. There are activities planned, in the courtyard, bus rides, crafts and birthday parties. They are always providing stimulation for the residents, as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend White Oaks.

DO NOT send an Alzheimer's or dementia patient to this facility. They are completely unqualified and unwilling to take care of them. Staff comes first, not residents. They will recommend a death cocktail to knock them out so the don't have to deal with them and then send them to hospital if u don't comply. Cna are nice, Nurses are uncaring and lazy.Assisted living is nice if u can do everything for yourself. COMPLETELY UNQUALIFIED FOR MEMORY CARE.
