Have a constant issue with a mental guy in the neighborhood and hes had cops called on him dozens of times for several years. Yet nothing seems to get done. They never arrest him and never commit him. He has increased his violence over the year also. I guess the cops want to wait till someone gets hurt or dies first to do their jobs.

Great information Thanks Margarita. See something. Say something. This is the value of Community Watch. There are great tips listed on the Chicagoist. https://chicagoist.com/2017/05/24/a_few_handy_tips_for_keeping_your_b.php People need to remind their kids to use their bike locks. They suggest two U- locks make it more difficult versus only using a cable lock. Make sure to go through the frame and the wheel. Don't make it easy to get ripped off. Check out the video by activetrans.org on the same page. Remind your kids to bring the bike inside overnight - never leave it outside. Write down the basic information on the bike - description, serial #, make, model. Take a photo. Finally. Register the bike: (1) with the National Bike Registry: (now merged with 529Garage https://project529.com/garage/users/sign_in (2) with the CPD. https://operations.chicagopolice.org/BikeRegistration/Account/Login
This is not a typical Google Guide question. I suggest dial 311 for the best nonemergency information direction since zone 1 covers more than one district. I hope that helps.
