This was such a fun lighthouse to visit! It had the usual gift shop with trinkets, but also had a complete museum of information about the history of the lighthouse and its keepers, shipwrecks from the area, and the house was filled with old furniture to represent how it would have been utilized back when it was a functioning lighthouse. I am unsure if it is open all year round or if they always have the Keeper Program active but they did last weekend and it was fun to crawl up the lighthouse steps to see the view. The museum and steps up to the viewing platform aren't toddler friendly, but they did have a playground and a beautiful beach to explore.

The lighthouse turned museum had a lot of interesting information regarding the history of the family that lived there. You can get the best view at the top of the lighthouse, but I would not recommend it to anyone with claustrophobia. There is a small trail outside of the fog house that leads out to a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. The entire experience takes about 20 minutes.

Entry fee into the park and another to enter the lighthouse is the only reason its 3 stars. The lighthouse costs an additional $8 to enter in 2022. The seashore is free with park admission though and its a lovely rocky beach.nice benches and grassy/garden area to roam. Within a 1000 feet of parking

There is a campground as you enter off to the right. The campground is gorgeous.
It was open yesterday when I was there
