The evening started with being told that our reservation was going to be canceled, because part of the party was running late. The people did arrive and joined the Hibachi Table. Through the rest of the meal, I felt that we were being rushed to finish our meal and to leave. It was hard to enjoy anything. As for the food and atmosphere, I was not impressed.

The food here is absolutely amazing and the portions are huge.

It's alright. For people who like hibachi and enjoy the experience, I think they have some mid-level chefs. Their sushi is also okay, though sometimes it tastes a little too fishy. I really enjoy their spicy squid salad (though not always spicy) and their seaweed salad. Their yaki udon is definitely a miss. My biggest disappointment is they did away with the mid-afternoon happy hour.

Tucked into the courtyard shoppers, near Merriweathers and the back entrance to Bread Alone, this is one of our favorite lunch and dinner spots in Rhinebeck. It's also one of our favorites for hibachi, which you can enjoy either served at the hot table or at your intimate table for 2. Great fare, excellent presentation, and friendly service combine to make this a great place to dine. Highly recommended.
