This is a very family friendly beach it even has a pirate ship playground. The water is shallow and the waves are tame so even your little ones can go a ways out. I strongly recommend bringing plenty of sunscreen since your kids will never want to leave. You do have to pay for parking but its cheap, if you're planning on going more than once it's worth it to buy the year pass.

I don't want to leave a good review and end up with this area flooded with people but this is the best beach we've found on our trip down to Corpus Christi. Nice and quiet, semi clean water you can see in, and it's not very deep even a good bit out. No giant waves like at North and McGee. There are bathrooms and showers and even little shade huts spread out all over the beach for people to use It does cost $10 to drive in or $40 for a year pass. Great place to spend the day

Fantastic beach. Very shallow depths with lots of sandbars. You can walk out 100 yards into the bay and still have the water at thigh-height only. Yet you can't see the other side of the bay, so it feels like you're at the ocean. No lifeguards, but it's not deep. The sand is soft and good for sand castles. Minimal seaweed. We went on a Saturday in June and I wouldn't even call it crowded. There are three playgrounds. Pets not allowed, though there's a part of the beach between the entrance and the marina where you can have them. They charge $10 for a day pass and $40 for a year.

Great park! They have a sandy beach with very few waves and current. It's great for smaller kids. There are many covered picnic tables throughout as well as restrooms, showers, and all the seagulls you'd like to feed. It is $10 for the day or $40 for an annual pass.

I was down there this past weekend. I spoke with the Chamber of Commerce and she stated they would be closed after Sunday. I would definitely call before hand. Here's the number I called, 13614631585
Yes, they have multiple playgrounds on the ocean beach, plus an area just off the boat channel called the saltwater pool which is shallow with calm water. If you go during the week, the saltwater pool should be pretty empty
Not at coast this weekend.
Park closes at midnight on Friday and Saturday and 11pm the rest of the week. No over nights.
As the others stated, yes. Take some time to enjoy if you can. :)
No but you can park close to the beach.
No, it is closed now through Monday and reopens on Tuesday
We had a great day at the beach, but we miss the giant blue crab and the seashell
I saw a family metal detecting the last time I was there- this was around Thanksgiving. I don't see why it'd be a problem.
We were in Rockport for a week in mid-November 2017. Many restaurants, fast food places, gas stations and the Holiday Inn had repaired and reopened. Trees had begun regrowing leaves, but looked pitiful. Other businesses remained destroyed, with no sign of cleanup or repair. For the most part, Rockport was well on the way to recovery. Port Aransas, OTOH, was still an absolute mess, looking like Harvey had just hit a few weeks earlier.
I don't recall a dog friendly side but I've definitely seen the "no pets allowed" sign...yours is a special case and I would call the park just to make sure
Not that I recall but golf cart rentals are available.
No. But they do have pavilions to rent for events.
Absolutely, yes you can
Yes it is open and pretty as ever!
Days inn by Ramada
Depends on the water condition and all that....usually on bright clear days a light color works good...like white or gold...and on murky days something fluorescent like yellow redheads...
Not at this location, but tons of areas surrounding where it's available.
I saw them in the main bathroom but the one by the volley ball net was gone.
There are no pets allowed in the park, but there is an area at the beach where they do allow pets, it's located right before the paying booth to get into the beach park.
Allowed to fish But you do have to have a license to fish in Texas!
They have port-a-pottys every where I have a question, can someone fish off the beach?
Once you pay to go in ( it's five dollars for the whole day) parking is free
The Rockport Beach you can enjoy the beach, fishing, walking trails and bird watching. The Aquarium was demolished by Harvey. But Key Allegro is a neighborhood not an attraction.
