This is a beautiful and spooky church in the remains of the disappearing town of Centralia. I've made several trips here, and it's unfortunate to know that the 'powers that be' wish to further erase the remnants of this town, and prevent people from experiencing these pieces of history. I am a member, the only way you can visit the church is if you go to mass. If you wonder around the property, you could get arrested.

Bless your heart! Aint no such thing! Maybe it would be a blessing for you to go to mass, maybe you'll learn something then. It's called an Underground Mine Fire! It's been burning at least since 1962 and nobody is supposed to go in to Centralia as it is! There's a reason why that highway was torn up!

I doubt it. It's in such a dead place that it would only say its opened all day to scare off vandals. It's a big problem there.

NO! oh my lord! It's all but abandoned because of an Under ground Mine Fire! The last people there are allowed to be there to live their lives out and don't like being bothered! This place isn't a tourist attraction! Centralia was home to families and it meant something to them. It's a sore spot for many families and people today.

You're very very misguided! This church is NOT abandoned and it's a miracle it's survived for nearly 100 years (maybe more). The movie was filmed in Ontario Canada! Centralia was only the inspiration for that movie. Bless you
