Joyland repaired extensive damage to our chimney which caused a leak inside my home. They also replaced shingles surrounding the chimney. They did a beautiful job. That is why I gave them a five-star rating.

Communication was quick and professional. All of the employees I came in contact with were efficient and offered great service. They cleaned everything up very nicely after they were finished installing my roof.

I was very happy with their work. I no longer have any leaks in my upstairs hall. They matched the shingles as best they could and it blends quite well. They also did the roof vent and they did the flashing around my chimney.

Questions & Answers

How long does it take to get an estimate?

Kevin O'Connell | Aug 27, 2022
Joyland Roofing | Aug 27, 2022

That is a great question, We can usually provide a replacement estimate within 48 hours of initial contact with us. A repair estimate generally takes us a few days to get out there and diagnose the roof issue, but we can provide an estimate on the spot and most times repair it right then as well.

We are an over 55 community in Limerick, PA with 88 units and starting to replace roofs next year. Would you be interested in being added to our bidding process?

Can I go over my old shingles with new ones to keep costs down?

Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019
Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019

We get this question often, and we can understand why it sounds great. Why pay to tear off the previous layer, and deal with that messy process, when you could just cover it up cheaper and faster? It sounds great, but we don’t advise it, for a few reasons. First, we can’t guarantee the quality of the previous work, which effects the new shingles as well. Spending money on a quality new roof, only to have it undermined by the previous workmanship is never a good idea. Second, it’s important to inspect the roof deck and repair the wood as needed. Many cities require a roof deck inspection for all reroofs. Older homes with roof decks made out of individual boards often need to be sheeted over with plywood to prevent gaps. Third, as layers of roofing materials build up, it’s easier for nails to pull all the way through the shingles, instead of holding the top layer securely, which can cause the new shingles to come loose. For these reasons, we don’t shingle over old roofs.

How long will it take to complete my roof project?

Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019
Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019

Every project is different, but there are some normal expectations. A repair project, like diagnosing and patching a leak, can usually be done in a few hours. Larger issues can take more time, but we arrive on site with the intention of finding and stopping the leak in the same visit. A full reroof also varies quite bit from project to project, but our average job takes a day and a half. With any project, we work hard to complete the work quickly, so you can return to your normal life, but never at the cost of quality.

Is your workmanship warranty transferable?

Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019
Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019

Yes! We stand by our work no matter who’s living in the home. We know that if you’re passing your home on to family, or selling your home to a buyer, their security is important to you. A transferable warranty is an added value if you’re listing your home. If you’re buying a home with a recent roof, a transferable warranty is important for your sense of security, knowing that even though you didn’t have the roof installed, you have the same protection as the owner who did.

Should I get a metal roof or shingles?

Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019
Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019

Either can be a great option. Metal provides some energy savings, and has a great life expectancy, of 35-40 years, and can be repainted instead of replaced. Shingles provide a wide variety of color options, and can simulate the look of wood shakes or slate for a fraction of the cost. Advances in shingle technology are making their lifespan a competitor to metal. Ultimately, it comes down to taste, budget, and what features are important to you.

Do you provide financing options?

Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019
Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019

Yes, we work with Hearth to provide financing for your roofing project. Hearth provides available rates from multiple lending partners, so you can find the financing package that’s best for you. Funds can be available in as little as 24 hours if you’re approved.

Is my roof eligible for solar panels?

Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019
Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019

We encourage considering a Decotech solar roof as an investment in energy savings, and to reduce your environmental footprint. Solar isn’t right for every roof, however. If you have open roof slopes that face to the south, southwest, or southeast, a solar roof might be a good option for you. We provide solar eligibility assessments as a free service, to determine for sure whether our solar roof is a good fit for your needs.

How long does it take to make my money back on a solar roof?

Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019
Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019

Right now, in Pennsylvania, it takes about 12 to 14 years for the system to pay itself off. Since the system will last 25 to 30 years, the rest of that time is free power for your home.

I've heard that it's a bad idea to install shingles in the winter. Is this true?

Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019
Joyland Roofing | Oct 27, 2019

Our work does slow down in the winter, but we roof homes through every month of the year. Any time it’s raining or snowing, we can’t roof, but if the weather is clear, we can work in low temperatures. Our shingles are designed to seal to each other in even winter temperatures, so you can feel secure in your roof no matter what season it’s installed. In fact, because of the lower demand for new roofs in the winter, the wait time to get your project completed could be much shorter than in the summer.
