Had a quick and easy experience. Wait time was less then 10 minutes. The female worker was nice, polite, and helpful.

Walk in. Don't even try calling that 800 number or you'll get no where. Read online for what you need in advance of going. The security guards were very friendly. You have to go through a scanner and take off any smart watches, etc. They will check your bag/ purse. The wait time could have been better. I went in for a name change and the wait took 20-25 minutes (Tuesday afternoon), but once they called my number, the process only took maybe 15-20 minutes max. The person who I worked with was very kind and personable.

Very nice and pleasant

Don’t answer phones. Poorly managed. State/Social Security refuses to improve despite poor reviews because this office serves mostly African Americans so they don’t care. Been to other offices and not like this at all. People should get service at any office. Should not be forced to go to office where service is poor and lacking.

What you need for a replacement card is on their website, which should be a valid ID and your SSN and proof of citizenship or address like some current mail with your name and address on it. Remember, there's a limit to how many replacement SS cards you may get in a lifetime AND in a year I think. So, try not to waste them. Also, glynis davis and Gabrielle Francis are both TOTALLY wrong and probably just typed an assumed answer. I'm not sure why they think you wouldn't need anything. Lol, if that were the case, they'd be giving out everybody's SSNs to anyone! Does that sound right? Well, Idk they really do give actual SSNs out to the same people! I knew this girl who had the same # as a guy, same name & everything! They must've had the same DOB too. I think she realized it when she looked at her transcript at Flo Valley & saw classes on there she'd never taken. Anyway, always do your research.
Your state ID (the actual card and not the temporary print out), and the legal document that shows the change (for example your divorce decree).
Do you EVER plan on getting a job, getting a driver's license, getting a credit card? Do you have children? How will you enroll them in school, get a library card, get a bank account even without any identification? You usually have to show your SS card even for a state ID! How can you even ask that question, lol? If you answered "yes" to ANY of my questions here, YES YOU NEED A SS CARD! In order to get one, you'll need an ID & maybe a birth certificate, and you also need a piece of mail that is current, which usually has been mailed within the past 30 days. They take a wk or so to come in the mail. Lastly, were you high when you posted this question? Lol, there's an unnecessary word, no punctuation, & LOTS of spaces between "security" & "card". Stay in school, dude. Focus on English! Oh, and you're welcome.
That's a question for Social Security...not the community.
It depends on what you need to do at the SS office. For instance, if you're wanting to file for disability, you can call and ask for an appointment. I thought SURELY I'd be able to make an appt online, but no, they don't offer that. How dumb, right? If you're simply needing a replacement card, you can't get an appt for that.
I would hope you're in Missouri since you're asking a question regarding the location on West Florissant, lol. Now, I know that you get a printout, like a receipt, with your name and SSN on it when you ask for a DUPLICATE card, but if you're applying for a new card because you've never had one before and don't yet have a SSN, I have no idea if they give you the same thing, the printed paper receipt. You should call their office to ask them. Either you're applying for a SS card for a baby you must have birthed at home, since the hospital case worker applies for the SS card when your baby is born @ a hospital, or you're from another country & have just now received citizenship & are finally able to get a SSN. So, which is it?
That would be a question for SS, but I would assume so, especially if you have children. I think there's something called spousal SSI or something like that. Just call SS &/or go to their site & do some research. You might need an attorney, Idk.
In a way, you may. While replacing your SS card is free, you may only request a certain amount of replacement cards in your lifetime, which I believe is 10 times in a lifetime & only once per year. There may be a heavy price to you if you use up all of your requests for replacement and no longer have a SS card and need one. Right? Check their website to be sure I've given you the correct information. You can also get a SS statement & request a new SS card whilst online too.
No
Your Id and his birth certificate
I believe so, but I think you would have had to work a certain amt of time or have paid enough into SS (or have enough credits) before retiring. You would also pay a substantial fee/penalty FOREVER for collecting early. FYI, this is a question for SS...not the community forum, right? Btw, it's spelled RETIRE, not "retiere". You may want to correctly spell the word before doing it. I'm the type of person where if I can't spell what I'm doing, I DO NOT need to be doing it! Also, being unhealthy/healthy has zero to do with collecting retirement. SS retirement does NOT give you enough to live. When a person is in their 20s, preferably early 20s, they should open an IRA account & put into it a certain % of their earnings EVERY pay period. By the time they retire, they'll have a nice cushion to fall back on should something happen to SS or should their expenses become much greater than their SS income. Haven't you heard rumors about SS? Teach youth a lesson about saving $$ for their future!
You might want to call the office first and ask them what you need to do
U must have an insurance card OR school ID. Bring that in and they can help you
Just your id
You need an ID as well (driver's license, state ID, or Passport). It has to be unexpired and the actual card (not the temporary paper copy from them DMV). If you're trying to get a replacement SS card for a child, you will need identifying documents for the child as well as your ID (vaccination record, insurance card with the child's name and date of birth, doctors records, etc (NOT a birth certificate))
Yes call toll free number.
No. You have to do everything on line now
www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount Log onto that, create an account, and you can apply online. Or you can go into an SSA office and do it there. Either way, they are FREE! Any website charging for SS cards is a scam charging you to give them your personal information.
You would have to log in on @ ssa.gov
Amanda Maloney you need to Google the Olive Office or contact the office directly for directions! I'm not familiar with the Olive Office location.
But that's only that one check I believe you have to report their death and if the kids was getting a check already they will keep getting it
Go online to SSA website and create an account for yourself, once you do that there's a calculator on there which tells you how much you would receive
You can make appointments for many things, but you may also be able to find answers to your questions online at SSA.gov.
7-10 days, however they do give you a recite showing you applied for the card
As long as your in the door before noon, somebody will speak with you
The office closest to the new location.
You are obligated to report it on your taxes but you may not have to pay taxes on it, depending on your income.
You can go to the Family Support Center on 9900 Page or on 8501 Lucas and Hunt Rd if you live in North County
Local number
Marriage certificate/license and drivers license
Of course no one has answered. Grrr! My eye doc is closed on Wed too! What is it about Wednesdays!
Request it from the local office.
One, that's not a question. Two, you're asking the community. Three, you cannot get birth certificates at the Social Security office. I would tell you where to get one if you had asked a question, hehe. Maybe next time.
What do I need to get my social security card
