It depends on what you need to do at the SS office. For instance, if you're wanting to file for disability, you can call and ask for an appointment. I thought SURELY I'd be able to make an appt online, but no, they don't offer that. How dumb, right? If you're simply needing a replacement card, you can't get an appt for that.
