A great trail with some elevation but not too much. One of the ladders is a little dicey but there is a way around. The pottery is dispersed along the trail and is neat to keep a lookout for. The ruins and cliff dwellings are incredible.

Very beautiful hike. A bit of a challenge near the top. Be careful going down if snow is present. Would highly recommend 3-4 hours long

This was our first family hike in Santa Fe, NM. It didn't disappoint and made most of the other hikes on our vacation seem easy. Go during the early morning and be prepared to park at St. John's parking lot. Gorgeous views and cool temps make this a great way to experience nature in NM without having to deal with the heat. Would definitely do this trail again.

This is the shorter of the route, the longer one starts at St Johns college. Tip: there is very little parking at this trail head, get there early if you want a spot, we got lucky later in the day. There’s a split in the trail, steeper route (shorter) or easy (longer). Take the longer for much better views, totally missed out on the views going up but took longer on the way down. Be aware of the snow, the pack was too dense toward the top and could not make it all the way up.
