Had an appointment to drop off paint. Jay helped me at the drop off. It was raining off and on. The drop off area is semi covered so I had no issues. Together, we can keep our homes, our community, and our outdoor spaces safe from the potential dangers of toxic waste. We are open year-round thanks to your local government.” Location: 151 South Rooney Road, Golden, CO near the intersection of I-70, C-470 and West Colfax. According to their website, they are open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., by appointment. Book your appointment online.

July 2, 2022 I had an appointment to drop off my recycling. My appointment was verified. When I arrived to the location I saw several people waiting to locked gates and no service. It was a waste of time and gas to make a confirmed appointment with this company. There was no notification given for the closing. Just several appointment confirmations and angry people. Poorly run.

Nobody bothered to come to work when we had an appointment. What a waste of a Saturday. They even confirmed via text message several times.

My neighbor and I had an appointment to drop off several electronic items this morning. This was the second time I dropped off items here and this experience was the polar opposite of my first. At that time the staff member was very friendly and when I asked her about the charge, she told me that I did not owe anything. However, this 1 star rating is related to the way we were treated today. I made the appointment and drove there. I opened my hatch and after the cart was loaded, the male staff member treated me like I did not exist. Even after I explained that I was paying the fee, he still did not look at me. I believe that since there was friction among the two of us so when he weighed the items on the cart he quoted a fee of $147.50. I knew that it couldn't have weighed that much and when I told him that we could not afford that, and were about to put these items back in my car, miraculously the price was reduced a couple of times and then eventually to $46.50. Golden holds a free annual electronic drop off and if I ever have to recycle electronics, I will use that service.

Dear John Gritts, The Rooney Road Recycling Center is a certified electronic waste recycler and securely recycles electronics as a convenience to the public, including deleting all of the information on a computer hard drive. Please continue to schedule appointments to bring your household hazardous chemicals and waste to the Rooney Road Recycling Center. I dropped off a TV I bought in 1987 last week (CRT). They charge by the pound ($1.30 per lb I think), so those big, heavy TVs are pricey to recycle. Must have a scheduled appt for drop off, call ahead, or schedule online.
The Rooney Road Recycling Center does not recycle VHS tapes, however, Sustainability in Arvada does. They can be contacted at www.sustainability-recycling.com or (303) 425-9226. Thank you for recycling!

The Rooney Road Recycling Center does recycle Blu-ray players for ewaste recycling. Ewaste recycling is provided as a convenience when residents are also recycling household hazardous chemicals and wastes.
