First -- I'm not an RV'er or fisherman, but a hiker. We stayed in Cabin #4. The cabins are not the most modern of cabins for sure, but it was clean and towels were new and fluffy. No television or microwave -- bring a puzzle, books, etc., to keep yourself busy in the evenings. A/C was awesome after a day of hiking in 100-degree+ temps. There is a spring-fed sulphur cool pool that is wonderful after a day of hiking (once you get past the sulphur odor). The Camp is close to the park. There was a full size refrigerator and freezer and full size oven and cook top plus dishes/pots and pans and coffee maker. Bring your own groceries. The nearest store is in Bend. No cell service and WiFi is iffy. You must be close to the office for it to work.

What can I say awesome place to relax and enjoy life! Prices area very affordable for camping. There is plenty of places to fish hike or even cool off. The river is fairly shallow most of the time, and the spring is beautiful very cool and refreshing although small. The pool I could imagine is awesome. But was closed when we visited. Absolutely Zero cell service but if you must check your phone for work there is wifi at the front office. Bathrooms are not 5 star but they are fine for a camp ground. All the staff is very friendly and willing to help if needed. The primitive camping is great lots of beautiful spots to choose from.

An extremely beautiful place, amazing trails for off-road vehicles (80% of this place is not accessible to vehicles with low ground clearance), plenty of secluded camping spots along the river (you can camp almost anywhere). Some had complaints about the old man, while I haven't had much conversation with him he does come off a bit rash. He doesn't seem like the type that can take much BS so make sure you realize the place you are going, don't act a fool and certainly don't get stuck.

Tent camping is amazing if you're car can make it. You need about 10"+ of ground clearance and AWD, 4WD, or good tires to drive the whole road The price is great, though I would gladly pay another $5 if that meant they could hire someone to clean the bathrooms. There is a shower, which is more than the state park next door can say.

I thought this was a privately owned campground???? , if so then why call Colorado bend sp.??
They are not. They close for winter at the end of October.
Not that I am aware of but I can ask the owners when I get a chance to see tgem again.
At Bend State Park....right up the road...free fishing and you dont have to have license to fish since it's a state park! Also, depending on what's going on ...there shouldn't be a problem just showing up to fish!
