When we first pulled up at Camp Lester, I was a little nervous since it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It you get past the shack-like decorations, you can see that it's actually a great place. It's right on the water, there's a boat launch just down the drive, a small convenience store and plenty of cabins and room for people (and kids) to run around. Leo and his wife are incredibly nice. They cook out on Saturdays a lot and invite everyone in the area. The locals that live near the fish camp are just as nice. There are airboat rides avaiable right from the camp (which are incredibly fun for the whole family) and you can rent/borrow fishing gear from the Cosce's. Lake Wales is a great place and Camp Lester would be a great place to experienc it. Our family had a blast and can't wait to go back.
