Straightforward and friendly, gave good prices, love that they have a real-time gold and silver price graph on a big screen. Great items for sale as well!

Hello, I have a 1929 Wheat penny not in perfect condition. I also have a James Garfield, coin I'm guessing it might be a error coin it looks like some kind of error of a letter engraved on the front of the coin. Is it worth looking at? Thank you.

More likely than not, the penny is not worth much. Same with the Garfield dollar. But, it's always worth getting a professional to look at them. You can trust Lone Star Coin to give you an honest assessment.

I've bought a few with no dates. I only paid .99 cents for them. I'd hold on to them for a few more years and see if the market for them increases. Good luck and best wishes...

I inherited a large (at least to me) coin collection after many months of work I have barely scratched the surface of it putting them in books and mylars, investigating and research. Where can I go to get a quoted value?

Lone Star Coins | Oct 25, 2021
We absolutely can provide you with a valuation. If you need a written appraisal (for insurance or estate purposes), there is a fee, but if you just want us to give you a no-obligation quote of what we would purchase, there is never a fee for that. We can often go through even large collections fairly quickly, but you might want to bring in a small selection to begin with so we can get to know each other. We can often sort through even a foot-locker size collection in 30-45 minutes depending on the contents. Feel free to give us a call and we'll work with you (210) 735-7131 and ask for Fernando or Josh.

Our staff wear masks, and we request visitors to our store wear masks as well. We are happy to provide curbside service if that is an issue. We seek to limit the amount of time visitors are in the store by conducting primarily bullion transactions at this time. We have listed our inventory of numismatics and collectibles online for easier shopping. If you are shopping for collectible coins, we encourage customers to call in advance describing what they are looking for, and we can have those items available for your review.
My father recently passed and he has about 50 Sacagawea 1 dollar coins. Is it worth me bringing them in? If so, should I try and clean them first? some are oxidized badly.

I have a 1946 wheat penny and I was wondering if it is worth anything

I don't work at Lone Star Coins I just take my coins to sell to them. However, I do believe they grade coins as well.
Is there a fee for getting a coin graded?
Can anyone help?

I have never seen them charge a fee to evaluate a coin. A little bit of a sidebar. Grading is always approximate when you take it to a particular person. They can tell you the approximate grade and give you an idea about whether it has been cleaned. To get it graded you need to send it in to one of the grading services and they will give you a precise certified grade.
Old Morgan Silver Dollars almost always have collectible value above the volume of the silver contained in the coin. Depending on the condition of your coin, it could be worth $15 on up!
I have a 1944 silver 50 cent piece was wondering the value of it

I don't work at Lone Star Coins but have visited the store a couple of times. I'm sure they can give you a fair estimate. The employees and staff are very friendly.
Silver eagles are bought at spot or a bit less, Morgans usually sell for about $15 circulated non key dates. These are what you will get going to a shop to sell.
I have a 1891-CC Morgan Dollar. I'd classify as fine.
What kind of price you think I could get?
Thanks

They are not worth that much.
The 24 hour quote line seems to be disconnected. Have they stopped providing this information?
Charles Darnell | Oct 26, 2019
Zachary Taylor | Oct 26, 2019
Yes, the volatility of the market had them competing against themselves.
Customer would call, get a quote, then by the time they arrive at the store the price has risen and the customer argues they should get the price from the quote line.
1942 D wheat penny how much will buy that for date and letter are visible..

How much can a silver dollar coin go for if I sold it?

Nils Ruona | Oct 26, 2017
Depends on the coin. Year quality and things of that nature. Bring it im and I'm sure they would be happy to help you. I'm actually headed there now to purchase a bunch of silver and gold. Best prices in town.
Well there is one for sale on eBay right now for .28 cents so unless it's an error penny and graded which I'm guessing it's not then they will most likely give you a quarter...
