Questions & Answers

We have a beautiful view of Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Mountains. What type of telescope would bring all of these views into our living room and tight budget?

(Disclaimer: I work for LCOGT) We don't sell telescopes but run a global network of telescopes for professional astronomers and educational users. The Planetary Society has a guide for beginner telescopes: https://www.planetary.org/articles/how-to-pick-the-perfect-beginner-telescope but you'll want somewhere a bit darker than your living room. For free space images on a living room computer, try the 'Astronomy Picture of the Day' site

what d a ys does the telescope open to the public

This is not a telescope that you visit. You go online and schedule time with one their different robotic controlled telescopes in different locations around the the world to study the area of space you want to study. It is for astronomy students. But the public can pay for time to use same.
