Wonderful place with hiking trails, the waterfall on the short simple hike, swinging bridge, water to swim. Great area for adults and kids since it has playground as well. Has restrooms too. We visit every year.

Nice and pleasant place to hike. If you are looking for a simple place to hike this is the best trail to go. There are 4 trails in the same park. Easy trail Time-1-1.5 hr

Patapsco is absolutely one of my favorite hikes. From Cascade Falls to the Flour Company ruins there is plenty to see. Easy parking and a $2 entrance

Such a beautiful place. Get your feet wet and get in touch with nature. Lots of trails. Very helpful guides.

Last time I was there, I saw a toddler at the falls. It's an easy hike to the falls, probably 1/2 mile or so. The Patapsco River is also nearby a playground, and that's an even easier walk. Make sure you get there early, as it gets crowded quickly.
You can reach the falls in a half mile or do the entire upper loop which is a little over 2 mi
You are allowed to swim but water is not enough for swimming. I recommend swimming in the patapsco river down where cascade falls water meets.
If you drive in from the Avalon Area entrance there is a $5/car fee. The station is usually attended from 9a-5p, then it's honors system. If you hike in, there is no fee
I always start at the swinging bridge. Grist mill was closed when i was there.
If you are bundled up and have a back pack baby carrier. You should be careful not to slip if going on trails. A nice place to get wonderful pics.
The entrance fee to access the parking area near the falls is $2 per in state vehicle Monday thru Friday and $3 per in state vehicle on weekends and holidays for April thru October. You can visit the department of natural resources website to see the details on free admissions for seniors, the disabled, and active duty military
After you pass the admission both, you'll take a left at the T section in the road, continue down the road until you hit a restroom on the left, there will be a parking lot area and right between the parking lot and the restrooms is the trail head to the falls. Hope this helps!
