TL,DR: Sunset RV Resort is quiet, safe, and extremely clean, with friendly, attentive camp hosts, and if we found ourselves in Austin again, we’d stay here again happily and with no hesitation. This was a great experience! This small RV park is located in a more rural-feeling area, but there are big box stores, restaurants, and grocery stores (HEB, Randalls, Whole Foods) all within 10 miles. We ate at Mod Pizza more than we should have. :-) The park is mostly full-timers, but there a a few sites open to campers just passing through. My husband and I were the latter, though we ended up staying 2 weeks. The park has great bathrooms and a large, clean, and well-equipped laundry room. Our site was a pull-through with full hookups, a picnic table, and a concrete pad and patio. It was clean and very well-maintained. Jeff and Terri are the camp hosts, and they’re wonderful, both as the official caretakers of the park and as people. They keep the park tidy and clean. Check in was easy. Everything was extremely well maintained. The very spacious bathrooms are kept scrupulously clean. While we were there, a water line broke, and Jeff, who serves as the campground’s maintenance person, came around to let us know the water supply was being worked on and to warn us that the water would be shut off temporarily. He had it fixed in amazingly short order—while working outside in 104 degree Texas heat!—and then he came back around a second time to let us know the water was back on and to apologize for the outage! His wife, Terri, who works in the office, was also extremely pleasant, both in person and on the phone. She was also efficient. We received several packages during the two weeks we stayed, and Terri texted us promptly to let us know they’d arrived. The morning we left, Jeff and Terri came together to us to thank us for our stay and to wish us well on our journey. Amazing courtesy! These two can’t possibly be being paid enough. This place was memorable because of them! I also liked the variety of flora and fauna in this park. I make a game of identifying species new to me wherever I go, and I was delighted to discover two new fruit trees, a beautiful little beetle, a Texas-native lizard, three species of birds, and a lovely bush with a profusion of yellow flowers that is classified as “threatened.” The only thing I didn’t like about this place was its name. To me, a “resort” is a place with recreational facilities, like a pool, sport court, and playground. This place has none of those. The only recreational facilities of any kind that we saw were a porch rocking chair at the office and a sort of patio, though we still enjoyed our stay and would stay again happily.

Friendly staff, sites are huge and spacious, far away from neighbors. I was joking around with a neighbor and made the comment that I was being too loud and us kids should turn the music down. Well I guess that someone overheard this and one of the staff came and apologized to us and let us know that we should be having fun, and that we were not being loud. It was just a misunderstanding, but the fact that they understand that people are on vacation and want to have a nice evening listening to music, drinking wine and chatting with friends made my day!

Great spot. Stayed for a weekend recently and enjoyed every moment. The staff were very welcoming as well as promptly refilled and delivered my propane tank. The full timers were all very nice with very well kept spots. I hope to visit again in the future!

Had a really nice and peaceful stay for a week here. Lots of full timers, all with nicely maintained sites, and very friendly! Great location for things to do, while still out of the city. We will definitely be back!
