Wasn't impressed at all with this restaurant. My opinions on 30 Fish: Atmosphere: The atmosphere of 30 Fish is very commercial. It feels as if you're walking into a Red Lobster, just a little bit fancier. Before my girlfriend and I walked in, a manager(older female) was speaking to foreign man(likely from central or south America) and kept him in a foyer and wouldn't allow the young man into the actual restaurant, as if he had some disease. The young man was clearly seeking employment and couldn't speak much English, and the manager didn't speak any Spanish. The manager ended up grabbing the bar tender, who spoke very poor Spanish, and the bar tender told the young foreign man to leave. It was very awkward and not a great way to walk into this restaurant for a first time. Service: We ordered appetizers and entrees that came in at reasonable timing. We had a waitress named Rachel(I believe) who was wonderful. She didn't memorize the specials of the day and had it written on a piece of paper, which was very authentic. She was a terrific waitress and had some spunk. We really enjoyed how real she was. We were served water, but just once. We never received refills for the rest of the night. 30 Fish had two younger guys refilling water but they would just wonder around and almost looked like they were day dreaming while walking, they probably should've just hired the young foreign fellow who would've worked his butt off and done twice the amount of work. Food/ Presentation: We ordered the Blue Crab Dip for 2 and the Crispy Buttermilk Oysters as our starters. The presentation was nice and it looked very clean and appetizing. When we took our first bite of the crab dip, it just tasted like tuna fish out of a can. It was incredibly dry and seemed to have very little flavor. They maybe tossed a dash or sea salt and ground pepper. The crispy oysters were awful and just seemed to be deep fried, that was all we tasted, just the battering. We ordered the Grilled Swordfish and the NY Strip Steak. The grilled swordfish was actually pretty good. I believe if they decreased the price of the swordfish it would most definitely match the taste and make more sense. The strip steak was alright. It was cooked to the request I made but it most definitely wasn't a $50 steak. The asparagus they paired it with was absolutely delicious. All in all, they should lower the price on some of the entrees and most definitely focus on the menu items. I'm sure being on Lake Ave and just under the Grand Pavilion is a great location but 30 Fish just isn't very delicious.

Wasn’t impressed. Wanted to have a nice seafood dinner. With looking at the menu beforehand and seeing the prices I was expecting much more. Steak was totally over cooked and the shrimp & grits just had zero flare and came out cold. We did let them know once someone checked on us which was after we already had to eat. They compensated by offering us a free desert. That was okay but again just wasn’t impressed for a $150 meal.

Dinner was delish! Pan Seared Black Sea Bass and Seafood fra Diavolo were yummy! Lobster Alfredo was good but on the salty side. Best carrot cake! Vanilla Brown Sugar Cheesecake was good too!
