Nice state park for astrophotography. Clear sky, if you are at right time and right place you can witness Milky Way with bare eyes. Note: you need to use some Astro app first and then use bit of imagination to locate it. Thank me later. Summers are really hot here , better be careful, we stayed at General camping area, experience was bit rough due to summer and hazardous winds but after mid night sky was so beautiful and that made our camping trip worth.

Wonderful experience with my family. We always plan to go around when there is a new moon to take advantage of the night sky viewing. The amount of stars you can see is breath taking.

The staff here are super friendly and helpful. Well maintained park. Nice trails. I have been twice now. Since it’s a dark sky park. I’ll be back.

Visited this State Park from Nov 16th-Nov 20th for a training course, the Park Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the park and history, park grounds were well maintained and clean, hiking and biking trails were awesome, and the facilities were clean and very nice as well. This park is a great place to do night photography as it is an International Dark Sky Park, so you will be able to have some awesome night time viewing of the stars. Plenty of different activities to do here from camping, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, and more. I was even able to check out the official Texas longhorn herd and learn about their history while at the park. If you are in the Quanah area and looking for a great place to visit, I would highly recommend Copper Breaks State Park to anyone.

The equestrian campsites are higher up and more secluded. 37 was really nice.
