Clean men's bathroom. Very nice rest stop

Really nice, very big rest area. Picnic tables, a small pond where a lot of birds like to gather, big playground, air conditioned building. Signs warning about rattlesnakes, but I've never seen one. Only issues were that the drink vending machines don't display whether or not they are out of an item when pushing that item's button until after you've inserted money, and the automatic sinks in the bathroom are very finicky.

Enjoyed this rest area. Restrooms were very clean like the rest of the building. Very unique finds in the building. Grounds were exceptional. Staff was courteous. Recommend this rest stop for anyone traveling.

I personally stopped here on my way back to Amarillo from Houston. Just couldn't make that last leg of my journey. I was here for 10 hrs. I was awakened twice by Highway Patrolmen and assured that this is a secure place to rest. The officer told me someone would drive by every 10 to 15 minutes to check that I was resting easily. That was very comforting and I got the rest I needed. awakened
There is usually someone on duty.
