Do your research. They have a lot of animals pass through this foster group and are well known. This group is not NO KILL as their online profiles claim. A difficult case, -a socialized but FIV positive older cat who mothered 7 kittens was put down this year due to a single miscommunication, and the foster in charge of this cat was not even notified of the decision, so she believed the cat would be returned to her care when in fact she had been euthanized immediately upon testing positive. Instead of being accountable for their mistake and acknowledging the error and mitigating damage, they took measures to hide it ever happened and acted vindictively toward me for bringing information to the surface because they "didn't want drama", though I did not publicly name the rescue at that time. It's perfectly fine to want to avoid drama, but own your mistakes. My mistake was not demanding a foster agreement the moment I tried to join. Edit: I was mistaken in using the term "hide". The correct phrasing is that instead of addressing it publicly, I was personally contacted by an official representative. The representative had been contacting me upon the inception of the mother cat's euthanization, and was asked if I would be leaving the rescue as my friend had; then switched gears upon finding a private post to friends I had made about my personal conflict with the issue, telling me I was not approved as a foster and never officially surrendered the kittens I had. I would also like to state that the current Director/President did communicate through my friend that I could call her to discuss. I did not elect to do so. It would be wise if the group updated and made clear their policies to all potential adopters and fosters, and if decisions were communicated clearer between group members. Had that been the case, I would not have felt compelled to make this review.
