Plaza Mariachi was a good experience. The children enjoyed the play area, the mom's enjoyed the shopping and the next day was face painting, live music and more festivities.

Friday nights are Norteño night with Regional Mexican music from around 8:30 until 2 in the morning.
There are several places to eat across the foodcourt, plus a full restaurant that serves slightly upscaled versions of traditional Mexican / LatAm dishes (not your typical US "Mexican Restaurant" with sombreros on the wall and "Speedy Gonzalez" on the menu). Foodcourt options closely resemble everyday street food options you'd find walking down the streets of San Jose... escritos, palettas, tacos, etc. And at Tres Gauchos I was introduced to a new tapas favorite: manchego cheese sprinkled with fresh thyme and drizzled with honey.

Was only there during the afternoon had a fella with a guitar singing and playing he was very good. Heard it turns into a night club at night. It's a really beautiful space
