Courthouse looks good from the outside, cannot judge the politics or level of corruption inside the courthouse; the inside is very nice as well. Photography is not allowed in the courtroom, but if it is open, I recommend a stop in to see the paintings and ornate ceiling. Been to many courthouses myself, and none have had a greater war memorial in terms of size and grandeur than this one. It has got all the names of all the men from Centre and Bellefonte that served and died in the wars from 1812-Spanish-American. Plus, a statue of Pennsylvania’s “War Governor” Andrew Gregg Curtin is out in front. All memorials have been recently restored as well. Great place for a meal if on a nice day. Cheers.
